  • No more cord issues
So far this has worked great. Easy install and totally hands free wireless connection to Android auto. It does seem to be a little slow to connect but that's coming from someone with zero patience. I've seen reviews where it only lasts a year or less. I'm not there yet but I would have probably had to purchase 2 cables in the short time I've had this so it would still be worth purchasing for me ... show more

  • Practically Plug and Play
I have a 2019 Dodge Durango and bought an AAWireless to start with. For me, it simply wouldn't work reliably, and so I sent it back. After, again, tiring of playing with a cable to get Android Auto to work, I decided to try one last time with the Motorola MA1 since it claimed to have been developed with some type of assistance from Google. From unboxing to completing setup took only about 5 minutes at most. Since then, it has worked perfectly. Every time I get in the car, it connects to my phone without any intervention and stays connected. It doesn't have an app, but I don't see any need for one. It just works - highly recommended. ... show more

  • Connection issues
Works great 50% of the time. Never connects when you need it. I have a newer Mercedes and there is no reason why it shouldn't connect every single time. Phone connects immediately every time. I ordered YouTube music which works beautifully when it is working but because it only works 50% of the time. I am canceling YouTube music for $11 a month. I bought a Motorola because it was one of the few name brands. I would gladly pay more for one that works most of the time. An update after having the Motorola over a month. It is now connecting about 85% of the time. No rhyme or reason why but it works better than most others I tried. ... show more

  • Very dependable. Just works great.
I've had mine since February 2023 - so a year now. I use it in a 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness. The MA1 is very very easy to set up and just works great (at least with my Pixel 6 Pro phone). It just works and makes the car have wireless Android Auto as you would expect it would have acted as of it were built in. I've not had a single issue in over a year and it starts Android Auto within about 15 seconds. ... show more

  • Doesn't like VPN being connected while using, but otherwise good investment
Tired of stringing cable a to connect Android Auto so I bought this little fella and it worked out great. It uses 5GHz wifi + bluetooth to work so you can't disable either radio. First pairing was kind of clunky and delayed so be patient and check your phone for any notifications. What I mean by clunky is, at one point you have to plug in your phone to trigger android auto to come up on your radio, then it tells you to quickly unplug wired cable and plug in the wireless adapter. Mine didn't pair the first try, but it could have been that I didn't wait long enough for the first bluetooth/5GHz wifi pair (shrug). Works seamlessly after the first install. One thing that I didn't find more information on was if it auto-shutdowns after the car turns off, for some reason this adapter stays powered on after my car is completely off? That particular USB port doesn't continue to stay powered on after the cars off per the manual so I'm not sure how this adapter stays powered on. I'll have to do more testing. ... show more

  • Essentially plug and play, but kept disconnecting on a long trip.
I bought this because the OEM Android Auto (AA) connection in my 2021 Toyota 4Runner was, at best, annoyingly untrustworthy. I was hesitant due to the cost, but... it's Motorola. As far as these thing are concerned, I figured I might as well trust the actual name brand rather than the knock-offs floating around on Amazon. Anyways, I've only had it a few days, but it's already worth every penny. No more hitting bumps and disconnecting. No more having to restart my phone while plugged in to get AA to connect. It's seamless so far. Set up was pretty simple. Plug your phone in to whatever AA USB plug you use, let AA activate, unplug your phone and plug in this adapter, connect to the adapter via Bluetooth, and you are up and running. All told, it took about 30 or so seconds to "install." Once installed, it takes maybe 30 or seconds as well to boot up. I don't even really notice it. By the time the Toyota "warning" message goes away (Yota drivers know what I'm talking about), it's essentially ready to go. I don't even notice it. the story might be different in other automobiles, but... by the time you're done backing out of your driveway or parking spot or whatever, it's up and running. All original AA features work (that I'm aware of). Spotify, Maps, phone calls, voice-to-text... The stuff I use all works the exact same except now I don't have to plug my phone in... over and over... and then restart it... and keep plugging it in... yadda yadda. Update: 7/11/23 I went on a long road trip, and for some reason the AA kept disconnecting. My theory is that the Bluetooth of my vehicle and the Bluetooth of the adapter are fighting each other. It essentially kept disconnecting about every five minutes until I just got sick of it and went back to my chord. I haven't completely followed the FAQ steps on their website to see if that will fix it, but forgetting all the paired phones in my vehicle has, so far, only gotten the wired connection to work correctly again... so... there's that. In fact, you should try that before buying this if you're having connection issues. If you're not having connection issues, you're paying $90 so you don't have to pull your phone out of your pocket. (And, for what it's worth, it does add convenience, so I'm not knocking it. It's just... $90.) Updated to 3 stars because, technically it does work and there is a step-by-step procedure to [hopefully] get this sucker working again, but... it currently doesn't work. Not in any manner that isn't tremendously annoying at least... 3 stars for the hope. I'll update again when/if I can get this thing working again. If I can, I'll raise the rating. If not, I'll drop it to 1 star and ask for a refund. It would be silly, at this point, to recommend something that functions like the emotions of a teenager, if it functions at all, and also costs $90. ... show more

  • Worth the Price
It may be that my Android phone is also a Motorola product but the setup of this product was very easy without any problems. I have only used this product a few times since I bought it. The device since the setup senses my phone is present and pairs with it. If I want to activate Android Auto the app appears on the infotainment system once pairing is complete. Then all I have to do is press the Android Auto app symbol on the infotainment screen. So far very satisfied with the item. The only drawback I have is some cars usb connection has power at all times even when the engine is off. If that is the case you will have to unplug the MA1 when not using the car or the battery will be draining. PS Youtube has many videos on this product again I would recommend buying it. ... show more
