This is the 4th foot pedal that had the same problem. Works fine for just over a month (warranty is 30 days) and for no reason it stops working. The last pedal I bought lasted 35 days and motorguide will not warranty. I Will never buy a motorguide product again.

Let me just start saying the trolling motor is great. However the pedal is horrible. The first one I got with the motor worked well for almost 2 years, then started to get issues turning left, ordered new springs, did not solve the issue. Bought a new one and just after over a year again same issue turning left, the problem is that there is not warranty any more. I have found on internet someone solved the issue removing the springs and used dense foam...I have not tried this yet, will update after that. I have to say Motorguide ought to do something about it, it is evident that there are problems with this product and does not help the image of Xi5 nor Motorguide. ... show more

This foot pedal was easy to set up although I had to put it up next to my ear to hear it beep when turning on and off. The pedal was harder to push forward and backward to turn the motor left and right and it was very hard to to push it just hard enough to move the motor a little, it would want to turn half way around before I could get my foot off of it. The only real issue I had with this foot pedal was the force needed to make the unit turn left (almost had to stand up). This effort always resulted in overturn. To fix this issue, I changed out the springs (5 min DIY) with C-750 springs. This made all the difference needed. The unit is now very easy to turn left and right. I can even make little micro adjustments by tapping with front or heel of foot. The springs are available on Amazon for around $7.00 a pair. I am now very happy with this foot pedal. ... show more

When I first set it up it was easy to sync and worked fine. It takes a little getting used to even after switching to a lighter spring because it’s very different than a cable steer pedal. But after a year it quit syncing and won’t sync up again. I’ve tried everything. It turns on and off but just won’t sync. I’m dreaded the call to motorguide’s outsourced call center where they’ll make me try to sync it while on the phone with them before they realize it doesn’t work anymore and I have to buy a new one. Bottom line it appears to be junk. If you can get by without using it then don’t get one. ... show more

Quality remote wireless foot pedal. Easily paired with my Motorguide xi3 trolling motor. Another reviewer said a spring swap was necessary, and he was right! Pedal with oem springs is unusable. You'd think Motorguide would have taken a hint by now. With a swap of the two oem springs for C-750 springs ($7.50+ at Amazon) works perfectly. Small adjustments to direction were impossible with oem springs, easy with the replacements. ... show more
