    • Will not turn left
This is the 4th foot pedal that had the same problem. Works fine for just over a month (warranty is 30 days) and for no reason it stops working. The last pedal I bought lasted 35 days and motorguide will not warranty. I Will never buy a motorguide product again.

    • Replace the springs
Just got this and so far so good, I did replace the springs as everyone mentions. Time will tell if this is worth it or not

    • Xi5 is great but foot pedal is horrible
Let me just start saying the trolling motor is great. However the pedal is horrible. The first one I got with the motor worked well for almost 2 years, then started to get issues turning left, ordered new springs, did not solve the issue. Bought a new one and just after over a year again same issue turning left, the problem is that there is not warranty any more. I have found on internet someone solved the issue removing the springs and used dense foam...I have not tried this yet, will update after that. I have to say Motorguide ought to do something about it, it is evident that there are problems with this product and does not help the image of Xi5 nor Motorguide. ... show more

The only real issue I had with this foot pedal was the force needed to make the unit turn left (almost had to stand up). This effort always resulted in overturn. To fix this issue, I changed out the springs (5 min DIY) with C-750 springs. This made all the difference needed. The unit is now very easy to turn left and right. I can even make little micro adjustments by tapping with front or heel of foot. The springs are available on Amazon for around $7.00 a pair. I am now very happy with this foot pedal. ... show more

This foot pedal was easy to set up although I had to put it up next to my ear to hear it beep when turning on and off. The pedal was harder to push forward and backward to turn the motor left and right and it was very hard to to push it just hard enough to move the motor a little, it would want to turn half way around before I could get my foot off of it.     • Failed out of the box! (Was replaced and new one works fine)
Didn’t work out of the box. Unfortunately when I ordered it my boat was getting new fuel lines, paint and a new motor. It was several weeks after I got this that I got my boat back. By the time I tried it out my return period has ended so working with the manufacturer to get a replacement. Not happy so far! Overall quality of the pedal seems great hoping to get a working unit from the manufacturer. Update 09/2019 The manufacturer offers little to no support just says find a repair facility. This is not a part they carry. They ordered a replacement after evaluating my motor and pedal but I got a replacement and have had no issues with it since. ... show more

One sensor in my original foot pedal quit working and this was the easiest fix. Matches exactly what I had before. Works like a charm.
