Great product. Not the easiest install but that was the boat not the product. Just make sure you can get to where the holes will be. I would NOT recommend just running screws through the boat. The motor can take some hard impacts and rip them out. I used stainless nuts and bolts with fender washers on the underneath to give it plenty of strength. ... show more

Installed it on my pontoon boat on the bow. Works perfectly to mount my motorguide Xi3 trolling motor. Had to shop around for a bit to find a padlock that would fit. I found it at Lowe’s. I included pictures of the lock and model number. Highly recommend aluminum quick release.

It's awesome I'm happy that I did some research before I just did a permanent mount. This is something that every fisherman shouldn't be without it's an easy on easy off while your busy looking for that lure in the store or just pad lock it and go about your business knowing that it will be there whenever you return someone should invent one for the outboard motor then I can rest easy at night knowing that my outboard motor will still be there when I wake up. ... show more

Paid the price for a “new” product. Took it out of the Amazon packaging and could instantly tell this was a used and returned item. Unit is all scratched up, which isn’t a huge deal since it’ll be under a trolling motor. However it seems like half the hardware is missing and in a ziplock sandwich bag. Some of the stainless screws are stripped and will need replaced. Pretty frustrated at this point. I also purchased a “new” motorguide Xi3 and it too, was used and actually broken beyond use. That was September 16th 2022. I’m not sure if I’m just having bad luck with motorguide products right now or what. If my replacement trolling motor (which I have to wait another week for) is in anyway used or tampered with, I’ll save the extra dough and go with Minn Kota. ... show more

Worst mounting hardware I've ever worked with. Nylock nuts froze on cap bolts before becoming fully seated. Had to cut off and replace with new hardware. Problem solved but extremely inconvenient. Recommend replacing all cap bolts and nylock nuts before beginning installation.
