Worked great lowed the typical operating temp of my 2012 300C 5.7L Hemi. The problem that resulted was not a defect of the thermostat, but the Hemi computer expects the engine to heat up to a minimum temp 3x in a row or it throws a permanent check engine code, that can only be reset by 3x heating from cold to proper temp. Apparently that temp is higher than 180 deg. so I restored the 195 deg thermostat and the check engine light eventually went off. When the check engine light is on the ECO mode does not activate, meaning you always run on all 8 cylinders and the variable displacement feature, which shuts off 4 cylinders when the load is lower, never happens. That means you'll see the gas mileage of an 8 cylinder engine on the highway, instead a 4 cylinder. (Not to mention with the check engine light on all the time, you'll never know if there is a second, and more concerning, error code being presented). So the thermostat worked great I can not deduct stars for the computer protecting the engine from running too cool and potentially allowing more damaging blow by over time. ... show more

Purchased in April for a engine rebuild. Installed and starting using car July 1st. Yesterday car overheats. Have fluid, fans work, pump works.. In a way, this is the cheapest part to fail, but it did. Within a month of use it is stuck closed. purchased another brand. Boiled in a pot (212degrees) and it still doesn't open. Still while boiling, I forced open with a screwdriver which still required full forced to open. Stay away from this thermostat. ... show more

Awesome need a programmer to cut fans on at target temp but It works well temp stays between 178-185 in traffic, and 175 on highway, couldn't be happier I'll update in a couple of months

Ordered 2 months ago, installed last month in hopes of this item being authentic... Boy was I wrong. Almost blew my engine because of this defective Thermostat. BE WEARY OF THIS THERMOSTAT, PRICE IS NICE, BUT A BLOWN ENGINE ISN'T.. like I said, price is nice, but a month using this Thermostat, and it failed on me, isn't nice. And to to check if the Thermostat failed, bought a new 1 from Advance autoparts, boiled both Thermostats in water to find this one was sealed shut as the new 1 opened. ... show more
