This item does not set or clamp to the car well at all. Even once it is as tight as possible, it will still slide around making it unsafe to use while driving. Amazon stated that it would fit my 2016 Kia Optima, but that is not true. When attempting to return, the seller wants to offer you instructions on how to mount it to your car, which did not help whatsoever. They will charge you for shipping it back, approximately half of what you pay for it. I’m going to eat that amount but let my experience be a lesson to you. Don’t buy this product. ... show more

    • Incorrect and horrible instructions
This would be an excellent product if the instructions were better. First off the instructions are written incorrectly for the kayak racks. The picture in the instructions clearly shows the rail going one way but when you put the racks on with the tension plates it is obviously backwards. I checked it 4 times and had another person recheck what I read. The next thing about the assembly is it does not explain how to tighten the device on your car. I put it on and tightened everything and it was loose. Loose enough, I did not trust it to stay on while driving. It took a while but I figured out how to get it tight. The hardware was another issue. It explained what came in the package but was not clear where to put the knobs. I had a time figuring that out too. At any rate, I got it together and I think it will be a good system, but language barrier on the instructions make it tough to deal with. If somebody put it together and was not mechanically inclined, I don't think they could put it together safely. ... show more

Flew off on the way to to kayaking... whole beam completely bent going 45mph causing it to fly off into the middle of the road with a kayak. On the way down it scartched my roof and dented the trunk of my car. Poorly constructed. A major liability!!!
