This works well in a garage situation. Though it requires hard wiring, you can adapt things with a small electrical extension run with not too much trouble. And since it is only 24 watts of power, it isn't like you need a heavy extension run. It's designed for a flush mount though. And that still works if you use standoffs or something like that. The light is quite lightweight, it was easy to install. Screwed mounting plate to junction box in the ceiling, wired with included screw nuts. Hanger wire to hold light for installation had one side broken on the light, so I drilled a hole in a tab on the mounting bracket to clip installation wire hanger onto it. Overall quite an easy install. I have constant power to the light, but you could replace a light that uses a switch and then leave it on for motion detection. It will not remain on if someone is sitting in the room even with some motion. An arm wave is needed to trigger. There is no adjustment for length of time it stays on either. Speaking of motion detection, we have not had any issues with the light not coming on when entering the room. I understand that the 'radar' sensor light may work different than other IR sensors, but many time when starting downstairs the light is already on. This is not because of an early detection, laundry room is in a separate room. The only thing I can imagine is that it picks up some motion in our kitchen, which is one floor directly above the light. Seems like it pops on when it senses someone walking in the kitchen quite often. Overall not a bad light, but with no adjustment on sensitivity it certainly would not work in many situations or if you don't want the occasional "false trigger" that turns it on. At least it doesn't use much power so it's not a great cost if it's on once in a while. ... show more

We easily installed this 12 inch square motion detector light in our entryway, which is a separate room in itself. This light is just perfect for this area. It’s not a room we spent any amount of time in, rather a pass through area. So coming in from outside in the dark, this light is just perfect. This ceiling mounted light fixture is easy to install. It has a motion sensor so you never have to turn on or off the light. It is bright white at 5000K and powerful at 24 watts. They are very long lasting and require no maintenance. Best of all it looks great.

Got this for a laundry room so that it lights up without me having to turn a light switch with a basket in my hand. Hooking this up is easy, and you can easily screw the base into the existing electrical box. Connecting the wires is also extra easy cause it has ready made clips. The light looks nice and everything and it's bright, when it works. However, the motion sensing doesn't work. It will work when I'm on my ladder looking at the unit to see what the issue is, but as soon as I leave the room, wait for the light to turn off, they come in, it's just not turning in at all. This is absolutely unacceptable for a light that only works with motion. There's no option to even turn off the motion sensing. Avoid this light, unfortunately. ... show more

I am reviewing: Motion Sensor Ceiling Light, 12 Inch Square Motion Sensor Light Indoor, 24W Wired Flush Mount Ceiling Light 5000K, Motion Activated Light for Hallway Stair Walk-in Closet Porch Laundry I mounted this light on our patio. It was relatively easy to install, but it did not come with the little bar that allows you to pivot the entire fixture. The wires come with little connectors attached showing L & N. There are nice instructions included. There is no ground wire. There is a leash attached that is supposed to make it easier while mounting because you always need that third arm... But it is more in the way, so I removed it. I mounted the backing plate, with existing long screws, to the two holes in the power box. The fixture attaches to the plate by pushing up onto three guide nubs, and twisting clockwise into position. For me, that means that the square light fixture will forever be crooked because there was no adjustment bar. I'm going to try not to think about it. We sat outside with the neighbors, and someone walked by on the sidewalk outside of our patio, maybe 15 ft or more away from the fixture, and it went on. Wow it is a bright light. I'm hoping that it discourages stray cats from sleeping on my patio. This is just a simple, plain product that does what it's supposed to do. ... show more
