  • TIR = 0.00075
I purchased the 4 jaw chuck for use on my Harbor Freight 7 x 12 lathe. I installed the chuck on the lathe using a back plate from little machine shop with no problems. The chuck appears to be clean with no cleaning required. The jaws work smoothly in both directions. Using a 1/2 inch pin gage a runout of 0.00075 was obtained. Next, I turned a 1/2 inch piece of 1018 steel. I again measured a runout of 0.00075. I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • I GOT LUCKY WITH THIS PURCHASE. 0.001 RUNOUT
This is the second one of these I have purchased. The first I purchased about the years ago when the COVID-19 pandemic first took the world by storm. That chuck only had a RUNOUT of 0.012, but a quick turning job got it qualified for high precision. This chick came packaged better, cleaner and looks like they spent more time building it to be the best it can be. I am very pleased especially with the price for such close tolerances. I was honestly expecting to get one that had more RUNOUT than the first one, but it seems like the company has stepped up and making more quality products. ... show more

  • "Great Value" for the price.
I have not used it yet, as I have to make backing plate to mount it on my lathe. I'm waiting for a 1" X 10 TPI tap which is due in mid August so I can tap the mounting plate for installation. This lathe chuck is from Asia and the quality is excellent. Each jaw is finely machined and the fit and function is very good. I'm looking forward to using this for some of my projects. The Overall Rating, I gave only 4 stars because I haven't really used it yet, but I'm confident that it will be fine. ... show more

  • Wrong size returned for smaller size.
Quality is fine but I ordered wrong size.

  • Hold small diameter parts.
I believe it will work for the purpose for which I purchased it. I will hold it in my 10 inch scroll chuck for holding small diameter parts that the large one won't close upon. Quicker than installing the collet chuck.

I bought this chuck for my mini lathe. Quality is very good and I believe a very good buy for the money.
