I love my Moonshine rods. I have a 5 wt and a 7 wt from the Drifter series. Moonshine rods are high quality in look, feel and function. All of their rods come with a spare tip. You break the tip section simply replace it with the spare. You're good to go and your trip is not ruined

Was a little hesitant to purchase after reading a handful of bad reviews from a web search. Then I realized the vast majority of the reviews were great and the few bad reviews were really probably people slinging $1000+ rods. Hey whatever you gotta say to yourself to justify your vanity purchase with your wife. Most of us live in the real world and that means $200-$300 rods. I also figured that most any rod in the $200-$300 price range was going to be made in China even the ones from the more well known rod manufacturers. I got the Drifter 2 in the 5wt/9ft. First of all, the rod looks great from a purely cosmetic standpoint. I have fished it twice and felt like it was on par with my other rod in a similar price range from a large fly fishing retailer. For the price, you get a nice looking rod, a nice case, an extra tip section and if you break it you pay $40 for a replacement section versus $60 replacement fee from another manufacturer. I could not find a rod company that offered a “no cost” warranty. If I wind up breaking it after a couple of season then I am only out $200. So, buy the rod and give it a run. The extra money you save invest in a higher quality fly line.

I bought my first fly rod setup in 1994, so I have been at this a while. I was looking for a nice backup rod and reel without breaking the bank. I purchased the Moonshine Drifter 5wt rod and I paired it with the Kingfisher Big Blackfoot Reel with a loaded it with RIO Perception WF5F fly line I found on sale. The rod was packaged in nice rod case and came with a spare rod tip. The rod is light weight and seems to be well made. I love the look of this rod with the copper accents and the wood reel seat. I spent a week on the river fishing with this rod and it worked perfectly. This rod is on par with some of my more expensive rods. I am planning on purchasing another Moonshine rod in a 9wt. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have fun and catch fish, but a good rod and reel along with a good fly line makes it more enjoyable. If you are looking for a nice rod either as a beginner or an avid fisherman, this rod deserves chance.

one cool lil rod! im on 2lb test and this rod handle some big fish today. alot of action, looks amazing, so glad i gave this company a shot! i paired it with a tica cetus sb 500 and love it. light weight setup but packs a punch. bonus it came with a carrying case its so well built the rod was worth the price alone.

Overall build quality of this rod is excellent. However, the guides they use on the rod are too small! If you are using the rod on stillwater and using a leader up to 20" long then the front of the flyline & leader connection is running through the guides. The guides are so small the line/leader connection hangs-up in the tiny guides. Also, the 'swing weight' of the 10' 5wt is heavier than other 10' 5wt rods I own. Still, the rod cast very well.

I broke my very costly and only Euro Rod (Tip only) and had to send it away for repair, and it's going to take 6 weeks or more to get it back to me. Got the 10'4'' 2WT Epiphany Euro Rod and used it right away, and WOW, I like it better than my other rod already! The sensitivity is awesome, and after catching over a dozen trout on it in a few hrs, I think I will sell my other rod now. I love the fact that you get an extra tip included so you can stay fishing even when you have a mishap like I had. The rod you will eventually own when you’re waiting 6-8 weeks for your expensive one to get repaired (new tip only) WTH Highly recommend this product! Great value for the money.

I've been looking to get into euro nymphing ever since I had the privilege to watch some European experts at a youth tournament. 90% of a trouts diet is underwater, mostly near the bottom, so I knew it would mean more fish. Haven't been on the river with it yet, but I am really impressed with this rod! I got the 3 weight and it feels like a long feather in my hand. Having had shoulder surgery 2 years ago, I was a little worried about fatigue. The rod has a nice, half wells handle that fits my small hand, a beautiful reel seat and a small fighting butt. It came with a nice, canvas covered case. Can't wait to get on the stream!

Best fly pole I have ever owned! 100% worth every penny. I have had cheep Chinese poles since I started 2 years ago and my casting was never right. After the up grade to Moonshine I found out it wasn't me. It was the cheep pole I was using. Now I can cast perfect cast 90% of the time. Thinking about upgrading to there reel next. Do think about buying from this company anymore just pull that trigger you Will be more then happy with it.
