We did not want to spend a small fortune for shades so we started with these for our master bedroom. I have installed many different kinds of shades, blinds, curtains, etc and these were by far the easiest to hang! The room darkening is no joke. Our master bedroom gets a lot of sun in the afternoon which is a pain for my partner who works third shift. These shades made it so we could not tell what time of day it was outside. It is super nice to not have the stupid strings dangling and they look nice. I did not but the back screws in the bracket because it would be going into the window casing but it did not matter. We also do not have kids playing with them all the time so might be a consideration. Overall I will be buying more for the other rooms. ... show more

These are great! They block the light super well. Made from quality material. Opening and closing them is really really smooth. Almost no force is needed. They are very easy and quick to isntall. It took about 5mins to install both. The only negative thing I have to say is, I wish there was more than just the color dif to tell the dif between the front and back of each blind. I installed one backwards so I had to take it down and flip it. My house has never been quieter. The reactive doggo I have seems to enjoy these blinds as well. Good product but one shade had little tear. Sent back and received another in one day. They really do the job of keeping out the heat. This was our primary reason for ordering. Only thing I wished had been included was some type of hardware to attach the shade at the bottom so they wouldn’t flop around when the French door is opened. Otherwise I’d give them five stars. ... show more

This is a very high quality light darkening window blind. It is accordion style and not like a regular mini blind with all the louvered things, so it's either up and all light or pulled down and nice and cozy. That's not really a bad thing but for me, it becomes either an "off or on" thing. But, like I say, it is really nice to have the ability to bring the light level down to a dull roar and this unit really does it right! ... show more

I got this shade to block light coming through a door leading to a balcony in our bedroom, and it is perfect for the job. On our door it’s a surface mount, so some light will leak around the sides, but that is not the fault of the shade at all, and it won’t be a problem. The package arrived damaged, and the internal packaging for the shade was slightly broken, but the contents were in perfect condition - so good packaging design. What you get with this is a nicely presented, high quality shade complete with everything you need to install it. The mounting brackets can be used on either an internal or surface mount, and they provide screws and drywall anchors to cover pretty much any issue you could run into. They even give you two little tab-handles to raise and lower the installed shade. It’s an easy one-handed job, so I’ll save the second one as a spare. Probably the biggest problem I had with installation was opening the package - turns out, it’s easy, you just pry the black end piece up with a screwdriver. The instructions are nicely printed and adequate for anyone who has ever drilled a hole before. I would recommend using a good level when you’re setting the brackets on the surface. In any case, I had the whole thing up in less than half an hour, and that was slowed down by taking pictures. Bottom line, this is an excellent shade and we’ll sleep better with it. ... show more

The honeycomb way this shade is made keeps the light out and it looks fabulous. I wanted to be able to stop all the extra light coming into my room as I am finding it impossible to sleep. In full disclosure, there is a street light less then 20 feet away so sometimes the light is pounding my window (or so it seems after not sleeping for hours. After putting it up, I felt a substantial difference and I didn't see any lights coming through the window. Overall, I found the kit to put up the shade easy to use. All the hardware was enclosed and so was step-by-step directions. While I did go slow to make sure I did it correctly, the entire process probably took less than 30 minutes to hang. It was the right size and really looks to be the right shade for the window. Of course during the day, I put the shade up and find that's easy to do as well. As hard as the light from the street lamp pounds, with this shade up, I don't see it anymore. It doesn't come through the shade and it has an inch overlap on both sides so it doesn't sneak out the sides either. ... show more
