I bought the purple TK1 folding trike for my 66 year old wife for her birthday. She absolutely loves it. She has had it for 5 days and she has ridden it everyday. I am going to list general comments and observations. 1. Looks great! In fact, she has gotten stopped multiple times each day by individuals who want to comment and ask questions about it. 2. Out of the box it is 95% assembled as advertised. It took less than an hour to assemble. 3. The top speed with only throttle is about 15mph on flat ground. I have ridden it once, before I gave it to my wife, and I doubt that you would want to go any faster from a safety standpoint. We live in an area with moderate size hills and it handles them with ease. 4. Safety comments - brakes work well. It has brake lights, turn signals, horn and a head light. It is also very sturdy. 5. Baskets are nice and sturdy. Because my wife has used them to carry her miscellaneous items and shopping goods, I have bought the bags that go in them so that items will not slip through the baskets’ bottoms. I also bought mirrors to go on the trike. I believe these are necessary to ride safely on the road. 6. A trike rides different than a bike especially turning it. This is not a good or bad thing. A person just needs to realize he/she is riding a trike not a bike. 7. This is the most important one - SHE ABSOLUTELY ENJOYS RIDING IT! At this point I highly recommend this trike. I ordered this as a Christmas gift for the wife in purple. Alas, purple was not in inventory and we received a notice from the seller about that asking if we wanted a different color or wait until Jan 1. The wife REALLY wanted purple so we opted to wait. It showed up in a rather large box and the final assembly proceeded. Not too bad, a couple of points were interesting but it all came together nicely and will not be a problem for anybody with basic handyman skills. For some reason the front basket was not packed in the box, but we contacted the seller who was very helpful and got a basket shipped to us promptly. There was also an issue with the LDC display, but again the seller was extremely helpful and got a replacement shipped to us. This is a peppy ride. It provides both pedal assist and has a throttle with an ability to determine what maximum speed you want. There is a nice headlight, 3 tail lights, a brake light, and turn signals. Really a nice ride. We have not ascertained what the range is because the weather has not cooperated and keeps dropping snow on the roads :-( One think I will mention is that trikes do not ride and handle like a regular bike. It does not lean into turns like a 2-wheel bike and if you turn the handle bars abruptly and sharply it is a disturbing experience. It is a very stable ride but can be dumped over if you try to do a sharp turn while moving. Overall, we are very pleased and the wife can't wait for warmer weather to get out and cruise in purple style! ... show more

It came assembled except for the front wheel and a few accessories. Because I am 81 and 5' 2. With some balance problems it is difficult for me to get on. I was scared to death at first but that just takes a little time. Everything seems to be fine.

When we opened it up we we're shocked that most everything was put together! We had it up in running in a half hour and we are amazed how smooth and quick it runs! My Mom bought another brand and she's sorry she did after she road mine! There was a tiny bracket cracked on the turn signal and Moon Cool responded quickly and sent out the new part! I give this 3 wheel bike a 12 out of 10 !! I Highly recommended this Bike and my wife will be getting one for herself soon ! Thank You ... show more

    • Not easy to put together

Before starting this review, I should mention I regularly build put it together yourself furniture and mechanical yard tools and could be con somewhat mechanically inclined. I am older and don't have the hand strength I used to have. If I can use my electric drill/screwdriver, I am happy. If the back fenders are not attached when you get this, send it back if you aren't a mechanic with good tools. I had to attach the back tire fenders. The company tried to be helpful, but the tools provided are useless for this. There is very little room to move, so you have to use the Allen wrench with no leverage to turn it. (One of those Swiss army knife type tools that is really cool until you have to unscrew it to use something. Then there is no handle, just a small loop to grip.) I ended getting a set of pliers out to grab on to the loop at the top in order to be able to get it to move. I really don't get why everything is Allen wrenches. Doesn't everyone have a philips screwdriver by now? With a screwdriver, there would at least be a handle to grip. There are also no instructions for doing this. Having a second person hold the fenders in position while the first screws it in, would be very helpful. Also, remove the back basket before even attempting. The screw needs to break through the bottom of the clamp. At least mine did. Anyway, it was a fight I was going to give up on but got convinced to try again by the manufacturer. Also, I had problems getting the battery to charge. It actually seemed to be a compatibility issue between the input on the battery and output plug on the charger. The plug wouldn't stay in. Then when I tried to turn it on, I got nothing. Tracing the wiring as much as I could, I found a connection not mentioned as needed to be connected that was disconnected. It was not an easy to connect one either, as it was on the bottom of the bike, in a tight spot and didn't want to go together. Thank goodness for pliers. Once set up, it seems to work okay. The things I like about it would probably be the same for any e-trike - stability, lights (including brake and turn signals) and extra help when I'm tired of pedaling. The biggest plus is that it does fold up fairly easily and isn't too heavy if you remove the battery, so load/unload separately? I haven't used it for a long ride. I mostly got this to use with my class C RV when I won't have a car, but don't want to drive the RV. The company was very helpful, but this was more difficult to put together that it should have been. As a note, this is the 2nd ebike I have put together, but the first trike. I may change my rating if, after using it a bit, it turns out to be amazing to use. ... show more
