Let me say this purifier is straight up cute. After a lost delivery and then a delayed delivery of the replacement, I was so excited to get this sleek thang set up. Then I opened the box and my hopes were slowly crushed. First, there was nowhere on the machine to grip. My other purifier has a groove in the back for your hand to easily pick it up. Not here. So I had to slowly shimmy the machine out of the packaging (it's quite slippery, to boot). Not a deal breaker but it did mean, if I need to move it, I have to pick up the whole thing with both hands. Awkward. It's quite light at least, but then that also concerned me. Fine, I'm still here for it. Then I read that you insert the filter from the bottom by unscrewing the bottom panel. Ok, another less than ideal design element but I can deal. Except for the fact that they taped the bottom with this slick, sticky tape, I persevere. (Note they taped it in 4 places. Each removal was a battle of patience that I lost over and over again. Really, 1 piece of tape would have been sufficient.) Fine, moving on. While I was still feeling the after-effects of my mounting frustration and then eventual triumph, I realized there was no cord attached. Looking in the box, I see only a USB cord. No outlet plug. I scoured the packaging to no avail. Then I realized they don't include a plug. And that did it for me. I understand this is a (annoying) trend with small devices, but I think it is absurd for this type of machine. For one, I do not have any extra plugs to devote to it and I do not intended to unplug it every time I want to, say, charge something, or vice versa. And two, I'm not confident enough that it is safe to use my phone plug for a machine of this nature running continuously. So, that ended up being the final nail in the coffin. I put it back in the box for return and I'll just have to splurge on another Levoit like the one I've had for a couple years now in another room. It's not as sleek, but it is more substantial, has a handle for carrying, provides for easy filter replacement and...has its own plug! Plus I know it will stand the test of time. Too bad.     • Clean fresh air from a small efficient purifier

The media could not be loaded. I bought this purifier for my bedroom. It’s compact enough to fit subtly in the room yet powerful enough to circulate fresh air several times an hour. My room didn’t have a bad smell I was trying to get rid of but it was more about the fact that I live in LA (one of the worst cities for air quality) I wanted something to provide cleaner air. CLEAN SMELLING AIR - Sounds weird but when you plug this unit in and sniff the air coming out of the top, it smells clean and fresh! I realize this probably sounds silly since it’s an air purifier but I’ve never owned one before didn’t realize it would actually make the air in my room smell better. Of course, it also filters the somewhat dirty air of LA and also any mold spores, animal smells, etc. BETTER SLEEP - can’t prove there’s a connection but when I started using this purifier I noticed I’ve been sleeping better. The air smells totally different in the room since I got this thing; cleaner and fresher. I’m very sensitive to sound and it’ll wake me up. So without realizing it I’m probably also sensitive to smells which may have been waking me up before. CONTROLS - when you plug it in the unit beeps and the controls illuminate on the panel. Their super intuitive so even though there’s a Use Manual not sure how much it’s needed. The Power button is in the middle and then you can easily adjust fan speed (low - med - high) and a timer (2 - 4 - 6 hour). I leave it on medium speed and have the times set for 2 hours. QUIET - I was surprised at how quiet this unit is. I’m a light sleeper and can’t have disturbing noises in the room that might wake me up. The Low and Medium speeds are super quiet. The High speed produces a little noise but it’s like white noise so it’s more soothing than disturbing. FILTER SENSOR - I wanted a unit with this feature. I know if I don’t have it I’ll totally forget to replace the filter. So when it needs replacement an icon lights up on the control panel. DESIGN - Really like the simple design. It’s all white with black top where the controls are and the vents are. As I said it’s small and subtle but fortunately is efficient enough to circulate and clean the air several times and hour. FREE FILTER - assume this comes with every unit but with mine was a free offer for a replacement filter. Haven’t done it yet but think you get it when you register the product and of course that also triggers the warranty coverage. For the price this unit is worth the better air quality and sleep. Now I have to get the bigger one for my living room! ... show more

this unit operates on a 5volt /1 Amp usb power source which did not come with the unit - luckily I have one for my phone but it's very inconvenient having to swich it out all the time.

We have 2 cats - and with them comes a lot of fur and dust. I have this set up in my office and it really helps keep the dust down in here. It's quiet - no one can hear it running when I'm on phone calls. I barely notice it and it's basically right next to me! My office smells fresh and clean. My only complaint with this is that I can't open it to change the filter. The bottom is extremely hard to turn to open it up. We're able to get it open so it's not the biggest issue - it's just unfortunate that I have to hand it off to my husband to do it for me. Who knows, this could be just an issue with mine alone. But I felt like it might be a good idea to make note of it here. ... show more
