  • Worked great.
Did what it was supposed to do.

  • Works great, a little expensive
I recently started using Boveda moisture packs to help regulate the humidity in my cigar humidor, and I have to say, they're pretty amazing. The packs are designed to maintain a specific level of humidity, which is essential for preserving the flavor and quality of cigars. What I love most about these moisture packs is how easy they are to use. All I had to do was simply place them in my humidor, and they started working immediately. The packs are also long-lasting, so I don't have to worry about replacing them frequently. While they are a bit expensive, I think they are well worth the investment. The quality of my cigars has improved significantly since using these moisture packs, and I know that they will last a long time, which ultimately saves me money in the long run. Overall, I highly recommend Boveda moisture packs to anyone who wants to ensure the best possible quality for their cigars or other items that require humidity control. Yes, they are a bit expensive, but the benefits they provide are definitely worth the cost. ... show more

  • Excellent product, small quantity
The Boveda system, also used by d'Addario, keeps my guitars happy year round. It works very well. Since the plackets are throwaway, it's more expensive than systems (like Oasis) that you refill, but is very convenient. This item is 10 tiny packs. The low price should have tipped me off, but I was surprised. "Size 8" doesn't tell you anything, but it would take several of them to add up to one of the larger packs, of which I use 2 or 3 in a guitar case. These small packs would be fine for a much smaller instrument than a guitar, like a flute. ... show more

  • Fantastic for raising and keeping reading Gunpowder to factory RH levels
Fantastic for maintaining reloading gunpowder! It has been determined that humidity plays a major factor in both burn rate and powder weight. Powder comes from the factory around 50 -55% RH. An open can will stabilize to the ambient RH. Here in Wyoming one of my open cans was 30% RH which means is burns faster (hotter) and weighs less on the scale. So you charge more/ hotter powder per a given charge weight than factory. Studies have shown this can effect velocity (which also mean pressure) up to 200 fps! 😳 By suspending a 49% Boveda cigar humidor pack in the can ,one can bring the RH up to the factory level. The Maestro bluetooth sensor allows you to check and monitor the RH in a closed can. I made a small sack out of nylon stocking type material to keep kernels out of the sensor. This Also allows for a convenient string attachment point lowering into the kid and retrieving. ... show more

  • Great for wooden instruments!
I use these for my oboe and oboe reeds, which work great! What I do is I put one in a bag with my oboe reed case and one inside the instrument case itself! These are a great humidification option for wooden instruments to ensure they don't crack!

  • Hope the guitar face doesn’t crack
Tech from Ovation suggested the product since I live in a low humidity environment. My 50 year old guitars’ face is showing signs of cracking. The packet was just thrown into the sound hole, his direction, just yesterday so I’m not a good one to ask, yet, how it helps.

  • These don't work . . . what am I doing wrong???
Yes, this is definitely a review of the product, but it's also a request to anyone who has a similar situation in ambient humidity and has experienced acceptable results. I live in the Tampa, Florida area. Today, for example, the humidity INSIDE our home is 60%. (The outside is over 90%). I placed two packs inside the sound hole of my Martin guitar and one at the headstock, then closed and locked the case. After 24 hours, the humidity inside the case is 61%. In fact, regardless of the inside humidity level, the interior of the guitar case is always one percentage higher WITH the packs in place. Thinking I might need more packs to lower the humidity, I placed a total of four packs inside the sound hole (using the recommended holder), and two additional packs at the headstock. I checked the level every day for a week, and the digital hydrometer continues to read one percentage point higher than the ambient level inside the house. While I can see these probably work in low humidity situations by adding moisture to the air, I cannot see any effect when it comes to lowering the humidity to the rating advertised (49%). Anyone have any suggestions, or do these only work to raise the humidity, while failing to lower it? I really want to get the interior of the guitar case down as close to 50% as possible, but I don't see it happening with these. The case appears to seal well and I don't think I'm getting enough air exchange to affect the results. Any ideas??? ... show more
