This thing is a beast and weighs in at ~26 lbs, with wedges. Quite heavy and bulky to move around so you won't be holding it off the ground with one hand while you drag the fencing into position. The most you can do is balance it on the ground while you try to line things up. In normal use you are expected to have 2 of these to pull the two ends of a line of fence together, so, at around $150 apiece, you're talking about a pretty massive investment - unless you are in the business of stringing fence or have a very substantial need over the long haul, making it a good investment. This tool works quite well and can handle pretty much all types of fencing and thicknesses. The tapered wedges is what makes this happen so I would say very well designed. For my needs, I only plan to use the one. I've got some welded wire fencing that I'm overlaying chicken wire on so I need to line up both wires and have this thing lock the ends in place while I hog ring the 2 types of fencing together. This tool will then be temporarily attached to a t-post to hold the fencing upright and in place while I join the two pieces. I've got another project planed where I'm going to do the same thing so this isn't just a one off and I feel justifies this tool. The tube that makes up the body of this tool is completely sealed except for two slots cut near each end. When I received it, there was a pretty good pile of what looked to be sand blasting media that came pouring out of these slots. So I had to rack it back and forth quite a bit before I could get it all out as I had to work it out through these small slots. A little irritating. This tool is built like a tank and would probably last a lifetime. The only issue is cost. If your situation justifies it then I would say: Recommended.

This Woven Wire Fence Stretcher Bar is very expensive, but at least it is well made and feel really heavy duty. I did not get to use it yet, because we are not ready with the rest of the fencing set up, but from the initial inspection it does look good and properly done. If I get any issues with it later this spring when we use it to stretch our fencing wire then I will come back here to update my review accordingly.

Box came in tore all up and supposed to be 5 wedges with net wire stretcher and came with only 2 so I sent back for refund was made in China also I’m gonna buy American made

Heavy duty and well made, I've used shorter tube style ones before, but nothing as capable of doing a 4 foot fence on it's own, and it made quick and effortless work of getting the fence tight with even tension. we actually hooked it up to our utv winch. This is well worth the investment. Will last a life time

This type of tool is basically an essential for stretching woven wire fence. There are many variants and this version is pretty good overall. It is HEAVY and the rods to pin the fence are heavy duty. This is really important due to the amount of force it will need to handle when stretching the fence properly. You also need at least one come along, with two being ideal. Combine those with the price of this unit, and it is a fairly expense setup. However, it makes the process so much easier and look way better than trying to do it by hand. I took a star away because some of the welds are a bit off so the vertical rods don’t go in as easily or as well as they would if they were perfectly aligned. For the price, I would expect them to be perfect. Overall, it functions as it should and makes building this type of fence much easier. I probably wouldn’t get it for a one off use, but it is a great addition if you stretch fence with any frequency.
