  • I can provide no meaningful rating for this item.
Style: Low Impedance
I can provide no meaningful rating for this item as the one I received was defective and as a solar model would not charge the battery; - don't know if the problem was with the charging system or the battery, but in any case after over a week in the sun the battery was completely dead.

  • Powerful Fencer-Attach to post with a screw
Style: Low Impedance
So powerful and so easy to install. Literally took 2 minutes. Put screw in wooden fence post, attached fencer, attached 2 ends of fence wire and turned button on! Been through 6-7 heavy rain storms. Battery already inside. You just have to charge it for a day. So just set it up anywhere you have sun a day before you want to install and let it charge up ... show more

  • Works great!
Style: Low Impedance
It would be nice if the unit had a bracket on the back to fit over a t-post but I mounted it to a wooden post which worked well as both a place to start and return the electric fence lines. I just wrapped them around the post.

  • All is not lost
Style: Low Impedance
If you bought this charger to keep deer out of your garden only to find out when you received it that it is not recommended for deer(like me) and further found out that it is not returnable(like me), take heart - all is not lost. Nowhere in its ad (that I could find) does it say "not for deer" ; only says it is for small animals. The only place it does say not for deer is in the multiple pics provided in the ad. Unless you have scrolled thru every one of these you would never know. It also disingenuously shows a pic of sheep...similar in size to deer. Misleading I would say. Since I now owned it I was determined to make the best of a bad situation and here is how to do that. Do NOT scrimp on the grounding procedures but rather go beyond what they recommend. Your house's electrical system is undoubtedly grounded with a huge copper stake and copper wire. I used the same. My fence wire is ALUMINUM..critical for its superior conductivity over stainless steel. My run is as short as I could make it, charging only one outer strand on my 3d fence and cutting off the excess. I cut everything down in terms of grass or weeds from touching the fence. Use good cinching metal connectors and not just wrapping wire around wire. Electricity hates air between wires. Leave your charger turned off during the day if possible to get the best charge and point it primarily west to get full afternoon and evening sun. I did all these things and the shock I get touching the wire even with running shoes on is so uncomfortable that I can only stand to receive one pulse of energy and have to jerk my finger away. Deer test things by smell and they get the same treatment only on their nose(usually). I have only had my charger in operation for 3 days but so far have had NO deer incursions. Is this due to my 3d fence setup or my outer charged wire? Who knows? Will update. ... show more
