  • No problems as a DIY install, great price.
These were put on a 2000 Olds Silhouette. The van has been modified for wheelchair access and side ramp. Before install, there was a real wobble in the rear and the shocks were obviously leaking. I wasn't sure I was up to installing them but it was SIMPLE. Didn't use a lift or a floor jack (had one though). Took off both shocks, installed them with existing hardware, plugged in the airlines... ran like a totally different vehicle and greatly reduced dragging over relatively small bumps in the road. The price was half what I was quoted at the muffler shop and about 2/3 of what I was quoted at the parts store. The free shipping made it worth taking the chance. ... show more

  • My 2nd set in 12 years
The 1/2 ton pickup these are installed on has 250K miles and the air shocks improve all aspects of drivability. When hauling a load they can bring your rig back to level. Of course don't overload just because you can. The first pair blew a seal after 10 years, So I put the same ones back on. Even reused the old hoses. ... show more

  • Wrong shock for Buick Terraza
This shock does not fit two or four wheel drive Terraza. All Terraza have independent rear suspension, When ordering shocks tell them it is all wheel drive even for frt. wheel drive vehicle and you will get correct MA 826. The top of the shock has a sleeve in the mount. The bottom mount has a larger diameter then this shock. I called Monroe and they didn't know about this issue. I took a chance after looking at pictures of MA 826 and ordered shock for all wheel drive, and it is a perfect fit replacement on the frt. wheel drive model also. ... show more

  • Shocks fit and worked on 2000 Pontiac Montana just like OEM!
These shocks were a perfect fit for my 2000 Pontiac Montana. The only issue was the original connectors from the compressor were old and crumbled when removed from the OEM units and had to be replaced. These work just like the OEM shocks, and it has made a huge difference in the ride quality of the van!! ... show more

  • Good! Fits 1998 Navigator!
These will fit the 1997-2002 Expeditions and Navigators. They're not listed anywhere as a fit and the max length is approximately 2" shorter than the max length of standard fitment shock absorbers, but they will extend to fit the space, the end legs are the same, and they work rather well. The 2" max length loss pretty much means you lose some wheel articulation. But it seems moot for on-road and modest off-road purposes. I added 1.5" coil spring spacers and they still fit. The combination gives me a better stance (eliminates the rear sag) and reduces the body roll associated with Monroe's basic conversion kit. You can add a little lift & stiffness for towing. I haven't towed yet but 20PSI seems to feel good for general road driving. 50+ seems a little harsh, especially giving a "pop" over railroad tracks as the shock gets maxed out...if you don't creep across. Having said that, 20PSI is a fairly normal level without sag and 50+ gives it a rake like the pickups. ... show more

  • Great shocks
I bought these shocks to replace 8-year old, 170K mile ones that came with the car originally. I installed them myself and it took me about 90 minutes to do the whole job. I had my '03 Montana up on a lift and also had air tools to use. Had to remove the rear tires to get at the upper bolt. The weird thing was the bolts on the van are 18mm. Would recommend a good deep-socket of that "odd" size and a good wrench of the same size to do the job. These probably would be available for rent from several auto parts stores. The original air lines connected perfectly. The original shocks were leaking causing the auto-lift system to start pumping air and it wouldn't seem to stop no matter what I did. Very annoying! Since the new ones have been installed, the air pump comes on periodically and then quits like it did when the van was new. The ride is very good now. Great deal. Highly recommend these shocks, but don't put as many miles on your originals as I did. ... show more

  • Pics are wrong and show the wrong fittings
these Shocks require push on air connectors like the AK29 Shock Absorber Air Hose Kit to work. they do not accept the screw on style that is shown on the pics. Also there are no lines or fittings included. I've used Monroe shocks on several vehicles over the years and have always had great experiences with them but with this bad descriptions it puts me in a bind. ... show more
