First, the shipping box and how the parts are packed is well though out so damage during shipping should only occur through the significant carelessness of the carrier. My outer box had some minor bumps and scratches. I could tell the carrier was reasonable with it and took some care during shipping. It is pretty heavy, so I was worried the shelves would be damaged somewhere. They were not. Its so easy to assemble and its design is well though out. It is very strong and has a sharp clean look to it I like the 1" thick shelves. Most cabinets like that have shelves that are between 1/2" and 3/4" inch. I bought the black. Everything fits together very well. I will be putting a 90 pound amplifier on the reinforced shelf and I think it will easily hold it. The quality of the steel pipe is very good. The adjustable feet are also great. I think this was a great value for the money. I see similar stands for up to $1000. They may look fancier, have a better finish, but this will do the job perfectly. No need for me to have anything that looks better for twice the price or more. ... show more

Awesome Value and looks expensive. Supports my heavy Primaluna tube amp with no trouble at all. Total capacity of all my equipment is just over 300lbs. I bought some swivel casters to ease moving the cart around. If you do the same make sure you epoxy the bottom leg inserts. If you don't there is a risk of them slipping out. If you stick with the enclosed leveling feet you will be just fine. I love this cart. ... show more

Monolith is so under rated. Which is sad. Their products are stout and will have a long life of use. Their method of construction allows them to be stable and be able to adapt to uneven surfaces which allows the components to be level and stable. The shelves ability to hold up to 75lbs is great as most components that would be of shelf size are not 75lbs, but less. The benefit to cost ratio is excellent when compared to other more well known brands that you'd spend at least twice, maybe three times the $$$ for. The colors used can be used in in many locations as they allow for matching of woods or fabrics. The assembly is so very simple that you almost don't need instructions. Save some money on your component stands and spend it on the more important things....The stereo A/V components. ... show more

Solid audio rack for the price. Compared to other racks that are 3 and 4 times as much as this rack, this rack is nice looking, solidly built and was one of the few that can hold the weight of heavier audio gear like solid state amplifiers with big transformers. The only down side is that there aren't taller side support tube options. I would give it 5 stars if there was an option to buy a taller section to add more clearance for a particular shelf. However, I can see buying multiple units and either stacking them or robbing one set of longer tubes to make one rack customized. ... show more

Monoprice products have been reliable for me so I opted for this model as it seemed to be a cost effective solution for my intended purpose. Assembly is self explanatory and simple, but tedious. Make a cup of coffee and prepare to sit for an hour twisting the left assemblies into place. Pro Tip No. 253: Level the stand prior to placing your stereo equipment on it (it's going to require more than one attempt anyhow... ) Resorted to Google and found an audiophile site where a user recommended leveling the front two legs first then a third leg on the rear (either left or right) then it becomes short work to bring the fourth leg into balance. This approach worked for me, YMMV. The construction is solid and I'm confident in it. That said - it is fabricated material and does not have either the aesthetic feel or appearance of wood. I've not yet marked it up, but it is not scratch resistant. I opted for this item when it occurred to me the legacy stereo equipment I was pressing into service was not vintage, merely old (1983 Technics) and did I really want to spend nearly twice twice as much on my next choice? With an eye towards the future I do have a slight regret at not making another choice. I'm using the included pegs on a carpeted floor which is long overdue for replacement. I'm probably opt for some coasters to place underneath when the inevitable home improvement occurs and the carpet is upgraded. I did try a set of casters on the stand as an interim step. While they fit accordingly (AAGUT 1.5" Swivel Stem Casters Wheels with Brake Lock Screwed Bolt 3/8"-16x1", Heavy Duty PU Rubber Wheels, 4 Packs with Nut) they did not seem to be a good idea when using a turntable, i.e. they introduced too much wobble, so I promptly abandoned the idea and returned them In summary, it's a quality product for the cost and it serves my intended purpose well. I'm again enjoying my legacy vinyl collection - and adding to it as any collector would. I do see myself upgrading the 'vintage' stereo to something modern and more capable at which point I may reassess this purchase, but for today I'm pleased. ... show more

This is a heavy duty stand that is very nice looking. I have it loaded down with stereo gear and it's rock solid. One suggestion would be to buy some carpet or floor sliders as it can be very difficult to move when loaded down. I'm about to order a second one now that I know what a quality piece of furniture this is. Did I mention it looks great!?! Second stand arrived yesterday. Same great packaging with great instructions. Had a few issues this time. A couple of the threaded rods were difficult to install, one so much that I had to use a light grip with a pair of locking pliers. The others just needed to be wiggled as they were twisted into place. Two of the shelves had minor damage (see pics) on one corner. All in all I am still pleased with the look. ... show more
