Where I chase elk, E-bikes aren't allowed. I agree with the rule. Too many hunters are super lazy these days, shooting from the road, from a truck, or trespassing through private property. I digress... Anyway, this bike is relatively light. But not the cheap kind of light. The kind of light that comes from lots of R&D where a focus was geared towards building with the highest quality parts, instead of adding unnecessary comforts like shocks.(tires properly inflated are all the suspension you should need... more parts equals more stuff to break or go wrong leaving you stranded or pushing your bike through the back country) the frame is rigid, basic, and bombproof. It shifts through all gears effortlessly, rides smooth and brakes on a dime. Mongoose has been around for a while. I don't think the are going anywhere. There are definitely less expensive options, but you get what you pay for. I am happy with my purchase, and am sure this bike will help me fill my meat freezer for years to come. ... show more

This bike is even better than I was expecting. I got the 19” and it’s great. I’m on the taller side of 6’2 and the bike fits me perfectly. I’ve ridden it both with the saddle all the way down and with it fully extended, and it’s great both ways. I switch it up for the different types of riding I do. I also stripped almost all of the stickers off, and I just kept the main “Argus trail” on the top tube and the “M” on the head tube. Everything else is gone and it looks so good imo. Everything works smoothly, and the seat is even somewhat comfortable. And it just looks so awesome. Solid parts and construction, and it came safety wrapped to the absolute limit. Foam sheets wrapped around everything and taped, then cardboard paper wrapped around that and taped, then zip tied together in a box with spacers so nothing moved around. The gears might need some tuning which is normal, but if you don’t know how, there’s videos on YouTube that will walk you through the process. A++ all around and great value for the money Update: This bike is still amazing. I’ve ridden through just about everything you can imagine, except for snow cuz it isn’t winter yet. ... show more

After spending more time researching than I can justify - I landed on this bike for my 11 year old son. I wasn't sure if this would be good for all around use, but he loves it! (I also have a fat tire bike) It is just a little too big - but that will be remedied in the next few months at his rate of growth. The bike is extremely stable in all conditions and allows you to ride in all kinds of terrain. We enjoy riding in the woods on trails. We are expecting snow next week and look forward to seeing how it handles. It is well built, however, the rims are not totally true - so I'll need to bring them into a bike shop. That seems to be the case with most bikes so I won't take away a star. The first bike I bought was a mongoose when I was a kid. It didn't disappoint then and certainly does not now. If you are waffling about a fat tire bike - - stop, buy, enjoy. ... show more

Ok, here I go.... I don't know where to start. I had pretty high good expectations with this bike. It is certainly a very nice looking bike but.... one of the things I decided to buy this one was because in the description says ITEM WEIGHT 30 LBS. No, isn't. It is almost 37 Lbs. It was pretty easy to assemble but it needs some adjustments anyway by a professional; the chain and speed changes, is not getting the most little disc. I tested it today, did a ride around 10miles. The last 2 miles the pedals had a weird sound combined with some other weird sounds in the chain. The brakes sounds sandy from the very beginning. It has some peelings with some sharp liftings all around the metal rim in both wheels. Looks like whoever did mount the wheels, they did a sloppy job; they used a sharped tool that lifted the black coating and left exposed the metal. Just because of this, I think I'll be returning this Bike. See pictures attached from both wheels. I'll keep testing it a little bit more and let you know guys what else. ... show more

Quality Control Issues Bought two of these bikes both ended up having shifting problems within a few days. Following manual and taking to the qualified bike shop did not reseolve the issue. These are prices way too much for the quality of components that you get, patricualry the chain, rear cassette and deraileur. Ended up returning both bikes with same issues. ... show more
