Mohawk bought Pergo and this is the exact same product that Pergo markets. I have used this in quite a few rooms and it works well. It is definitely pricey for what it is.

I recommend looking for warehouse deals. I received a fantastic deal on several orders of this product via Amazon warehouse. The layment is close to the other gold name brand foam. Super easy to install for DIYers. Makes room quiet compared to using just a vapor barrier. Only con is the foam is firm. Has absolutely no give. After I installed my LVP. Walking on the floor felt like walking on concrete. Pro is the layment also acts as a vapor barrier. Many more pros than cons. ... show more

1. NOT 2 mm thick as advertised- 10 layer stack together without compressing measured only1.6 cm, or 1.6mm/layer. Not providing much of cushioning. 2. Manufacturing defect- the fan folds create several creases at almost every fold valley, and sometimes at the fold peaks. The creases lift the seam tape from the glue line on the (golden, plastic) surface of the underlayment, forming air channels which extend across the glue line (~ 4-5 mm). The seam tape is supposed to affix tightly to the surface of the underlayment to form a good seal to prevent moisture from the subfloor seeping through along the underlayment seam lines. Pressing down the seam tape could no longer attach the seam tape to the glue. The moisture will find its way to wood planks sitting on top of the underlayment. This defect discounts the effectiveness of the underlayment as a moisture barrier. (As far as I can tell from pictures and descriptions, other brands of fan fold underlayment appear to have the same issue). To form a tight seal a wider glue line, say 4-5 cm, on either side of the seam tape will be needed, and this will make the underlayment a much more effective moisture barrier. 3. The material (foam, and the golden surface plastic layer) appear to be of good quality. The fan fold design is convenient to use. But the manufacturing needs improvement. ... show more
