I purchased these smart switches on a whim, mainly because the listing promised a quick, easy setup and compatibility with Tuya, which powers most of my smart home devices. Although the product listing indicated 2-day shipping through Amazon, they took nearly two weeks to arrive. While that delay wasn’t the seller’s fault, it certainly dampened my initial excitement. Unfortunately, things went further downhill once I tried to set them up. The instructions provided were extremely limited and unclear. They included a capacitor, which was only briefly mentioned in the documentation, with no real explanation of what it was for or how to install it. The accompanying diagram seemed irrelevant to most standard home wiring setups. I had purchased two units to control separate outdoor LED floodlights. After wiring the first one, it powered on correctly, and the light turned on without issue. However, when I tried to turn the light off, it didn’t shut off completely—it just dimmed and started flickering. Thinking it might be an issue with LED compatibility, I swapped back to a traditional switch and tried the smart switch on another circuit with fluorescent lighting. This time, while the lights did turn on, they flickered when turned off, and the switch itself would reboot. Still hoping for better results, I tested it with a third circuit using an incandescent bulb—only to experience the exact same issues. Suspecting a faulty unit, I tried the second switch I purchased. Unfortunately, both switches exhibited the same behavior on all circuits. In the end, I’ll be returning these. I’m disappointed in the quality and performance of these switches. While the issue doesn’t appear to be with Tuya itself, the hardware from this manufacturer leaves a lot to be desired. If you're looking for a reliable smart switch, I’d recommend looking into options from TP-Link, like Kasa or Tapo. It's a shame—these had potential, but the execution just wasn't there.

It took some doing but the no neutral wire setup worked. I had my doubts but was pleasantly surprised. Alexa integration was a breeze too. overall, great product, works perfectly, looks great.

I had already installed four of them. No issues, I have the black ones, which are really nice looking. They are big depending on the amount of cables in the electric box, which could be hard to install. They work fine with the smart life, I was also able to associate them through the app for a three-way control

The one that arrived had no box seal, no instructions, and its capacitor and screws loose in the box, not packaged/in an envelope as usual. Returned it fir an unused one.

I have an old switch with the "no neutral wire" problem. No neutral wire runs through the box so I was looking for a solution. I tried this switch. I had no issues hooking it up. I removed the two wires hooked to the current switch and connected them to the MoesGo switch. With the lack of neutral wire, the switch wouldn't have power so you have to use the capacitor included. Once the capacitor was installed, the switch worked as expected and I was able to easily add it to the Smart Life app to control. Unfortunately, the capacitor buzzes loudly when the light is on and other lights in the house started flickering when the light was on. The other lights that started flickering weren't connected to the MoesGo switch, nor were they even on the same breaker. They were on a different circuit breaker in a different part of the house. To clarify, the other lights were LED and the flicker is most noticeable if they aren't at 100% brightness, but they are all dimmer compatible and they don't flicker when the switch isn't installed. I know other people have had issues with installation, but that part went fine for me. I did reach out to the seller but maybe something was lost in translation, but they didn't seem to understand the issue, but I believe they thought the flickering lights were connected to the switch. After going back and forth with them I finally gave up as they just didn't understand and I didn't feel like going around and around in circles about lights that are on a different circuit. IF you don't have any dimmable lights in your house and if you're trying to install a smart switch in a spot that doesn't have a neutral wire, this may work for you. My concern is that if the interference created is causing other things to go crazy in the house on other circuits, it's probably not a great solution overall. I'll have to figure out something else to make this work.
