I was looking for an ultra warm coat and bought several to try. This coat was excellent. The color in person is very vibrant in a great way. The pockets are nice and deep which was a big plus for sticking my phone in on hikes and, if I remember correctly, I think the pockets were deep enough I could have put my young kids’ water bottles in them on hikes. The black fur lining on the hood is very cute. There is the option to cinch the middle with drawstrings for a more fitted look. Out of the several coats I bought it came down to this or the BINACL coat also off Amazon. I ended up going with the BINACL, because it was more lightweight to me and felt about equal in warmth. I am also a very small person, 4’11” and 105 lbs. So it might not feel as heavy on someone bigger than me. And it really wasn’t heavy, just the BINACL coat was lighter and more naturally fitted. However, the pockets on the BINACL aren’t nearly as deep. Wah! Also the BINACL coat is more snug at the armpits and while I feel pretty comfortable moving around without it tearing, I do feel like if I were to move around too aggressively they could possibly tear. I have my full range of motion but you won’t see my doing stretches in it. All in all I would highly recommend this coat. ... show more

Update: Now that I have worn this coat several times, I love it! It is so warm. This morning the temp was 26 with a feels like temp of 18. I wore a long sleeved, heavier weight t shirt under it. It kept me so warm. My arms were a bit cool but that is true in most of the coats I have owned. For a cheap coat, I am very surprised at how warm it is. It is well worth the money. Remember you do get what you pay for. I got the denim blue and love the color. It is so pretty. The length falls to the lower hip/upper thigh are on me. I am 5’6”. It does run a bit small. I would size up if you want to wear a heavy sweater. The outside pockets are not fuzzy lined like most winter coats are. The inner pocket does not have a closure. The hood is oversized. The fleece lining is not that heavy or thick. The coat does feel heavy when you lift it. It will work fine for what I wanted- a coat to wear when it is getting cold but not arctic cold. For that I wear my heavy down coat. Update: I just washed my new coat. Now it is soft and puffy. Love it. ... show more

I wanted to love this warm, beautiful (purple) coat! Most of my shirts and tops lately have been medium or large, so I went with a large. My measurements fit the L sizing chart. Sadly, it was too snug on the torso, especially at the hip level. There was no room for bulky clothing underneath. At the same time, the shoulders were kind of big on me, so it looked boxy. If I had tried the XL, that might be even worse, so I'm returning the coat. The other thing was the hood. It hangs down over nearly half my face so I can't even see, and there wasn't a way to change that. It was comfortable, seemed very warm, and the purple color is beautiful. For the record, I'm a senior citizen, 5'3", and about 160 lbs., maybe a bit less (been losing weight). My hips aren't particularly wide, and neither is my chest, so I thought sure a large would fit just fine. For the right build and size, though, I recommend the coat! Amazon really surprised me on this one. Found myself buying last minute because living in Florida, we never get super cold weather and our cold spells consist of a big sweater and we are good. We had planned to go to Disney and the weather suddenly was going to dip into the 20/30’s. I ran out to buy jackets and no stores around here had anything in stock. I was in a panic! Knowing we were leaving the next day and totally unprepared.l, I hopped on Amazon and looked for same day deliveries for winter jackets. This one popped up and so I took a chance. I bought three of them. I’m 5’3 - 160 and the large was slightly snug but it was still comfy and I could wear a layer underneath it was fine. I prob should have gone with X-Large only because I like jackets loose. In the pic - The one on the right is 5’2 at 140 pounds and went with large size which fit her perfectly. The one on the left is 5’2- 89 pounds and went with a small and she was swimming in hers but she loved it. But you can see that the hood was way over her head but she didn’t care - kept her warm. These jackets are comfortable and freaking warm! We were in 32 degree weather had thermals on underneath and we were super warm, sometimes even hot! Lots of pockets, waterproof and stylish. Good quality jacket that kept me warm on a glacier. I ordered two sizes up so I could layer underneath and it still had some extra space but I was more comfortable. I did not feel the wind or cold. It's thick but not too bulky. The zippers and hood are great.
