Overall the bed is nice, good quality and good looking. Most of the assembly I didn't find difficult. However, there are two major knocks I have with it. 1) Not sure what chemicals were used in assembling the headboard (it does have a Prop65 warning about formaldehyde), but it smells -bad-. I've been having a fan blow on it constantly since I got it; hoping the smell dissipates over time. If not, I'm not sure what to do, because I can't keep it like that; it stinks up the whole apartment. 2) While there are holes pre-drilled for the slats that get Allen-head screws, there are not for the rest of the slats, for which regular Phillips screws are provided. Unless you have a drill capable of driving these in, you're probably going to have a bad time. Ironically the instructions state not to use any other tools except the ones they provide, yet they don't provide any tool for this step. If I'm able to, I'll update my review and give another star if the odor dissipates. Update: The company was nice enough to send me a complimentary replacement headboard, but unfortunately, the new one smells bad too. I've had them for over 6 months and the smell has not gotten better. The old one has been sitting outside in a shed, with the hope that the heat would help get rid of the odor, but it hasn't; every time I walk in that shed, I'm still hit with the stench. I'm probably going to try to find a replacement headboard that fits the bed frame, which is really unfortunate. I have to recommend people to stay away from this bed. ... show more

We purchased this twin size platform bed to furnish my mother‘s assisted living studio apartment. It is good quality, and the upholstered headboard provides safety and something to grab in the event of a fall. However, like many of the other reviewers said, it is very difficult to assemble this piece of furniture! Even with someone very skilled at assembly and with all the right tools, it is a good 90 to 120 minutes to complete a twin size. I would strongly suggest professional assembly for this piece as the instructions are awful! The manufacturer could learn a few things from ikea assembly instructions. I’ve had this bed now for about 8 months, and it’s a very beautiful bed. However, about a month ago, the middle support beam shifted, causing the legs that give extra support to the bed to move, and the slats bent. Now, I often have to go under the bed to properly align the middle beam and support legs. I went as far as to retighten all the bolts in the bed, but it still occurs. I’ve had to purchase an extra spring support for the bed to ensure the bed is useable. Not sure how much longer it will last, though, because every time the beam moves, it feels like the slats are going to break completely. ... show more

The bed turns out beautiful when built but the instructions to put it together were rather difficult. +cons -I'm not sure if it normal but the frame and head board shipped 3 days apart in 2 separate shipments (no i wasn't told this i thought they had just screwed up my order. had to talk to fedex and they told me it was 2 shipments) -Most furniture has 3 types of screw lengths this one has 6 different lengths so sorting the screws and hardware pre-build is important -The head board reeks still trying to get the smell out i tried to wipe it down and clean it but to no success (i'll update you if it goes away) +Pros -made of wood... i hope -it looks nice honestly kind of a painful process overall ... show more
