Great chair for tall folks

I had a seviceable chair for years until COVID kept me home for multiple months. My current chair wasn't designed for long term use (+6 hours / day) so I went into the hunt for a new chair. New the new chair had to get to drafting height and have hip depth > 20". This chair satisfies both those requirements and beyond. As a 6'7" dude, it's nice to sit in a chair that when nearly fully extended, I can swing my feet. I need to get desks that are also ergonomic for me but having this chair is a big first step. Would recommend 100% for anyone who is 5'11" + who needs a comfy, ergonomic chair for long term daily assignments. The ruler, if you can't see, is at 2'/24" at my knee. Comparing new chair to old chair.

Misleading

For the most part, I like my chair. However, I am disappointed. I spent a great deal of time researching draft chairs. I read reviews, look at measurements, etc. The most important factor in my purchasing this chair above everything else was the foot ring. I paid extra money, so I could have a better-quality foot ring. I did not want the one I received. Looking at the attached pictures, the first one is of the advertised foot ring. The advertised pictures have pyramid shaped bars running from the cylinder column to the ring itself. However, when looking at the second picture, you can see that what I received instead is the cheaper, less sturdy pipe like bars. After using it only a couple of weeks, the foot ring is becoming unstable. I do not understand the problem. Why can’t you just be honest and send people what they order??? Other than the foot ring, the chair itself is great and quite comfortable.

It's Okay

I'm still deciding on whether or not this chair is worth keeping... The Good: It was easy to put together and the instructions were clear; it took me maybe 20 minutes at most to assemble. The seat height adjusts to the height of a standing desk, which is perfect for my use. The seat is wide and fairly comfortable; I'm able to sit on top of one crossed leg comfortably (crossed-legged also is pretty comfortable). The Bad: The backrest may be ergonomic, but it's extremely uncomfortable; I'm already experiencing neck and shoulder pain after only a few days. The seat cushion materials have a warning stating: "May cause cancer and reproductive harm" which is an unnecessary caution when there are so many harmless options out there. The armrest height is not adjustable, and sit just slightly too low, leading me to slouch if I use them. The foot-stand wheel's tightening mechanic is of poor quality and slides down if not much pressure is applied. You have to fully be out of the chair for it to rise. The Ugly: Was not aware that the back rest was a mesh tightly stretched across a skeletal backing...meaning the profile is thick and bulky, and dust will be able to accumulate between the two materials (that will be difficult to clean). The screw-hole plugs are poorly made...they are a flimsy rubber and will most certainly fall out. Overall, a lot of the components are bulkier than they need to be...a similar chair offering the same height and ergonomic qualities could be so much cleaner and simpler in silhouette and style.

Do NOT buy this chair

From the start this wasn't a good experience. The vendor advertised I'd get the chair in a week. Well, when it didn't arrive after 3 weeks, I asked the vendor for a refund and they said "it's on its way". I wrote them again a week later asking for a refund since I still had no chair, and again they said "it's on its way". The 3rd time I wrote they said it would be here the next day, well it was here 2-3 days later. Amazon put on the delivery status that if it arrived past September 3rd I could request a refund. The vendor didn't agree aparently as I asked 3 times for them to keep it and refund me. Then the chair arrived 2-3 days past when Amazon said I could get a refund due to late delivery. This chair came from China, no joke, and had all kinds of labels that say it could cause cancer due to formaldehyde! I'm totally being serious. And the smell is awful. You can smell the formaldehyde in the cushion. And I'd like to say its sturdy and constructed well but no. The middle pole which anchors the seat goes straight through to the ground. So you can't move it once you place it as it drags against the ground. So weird. Don't buy this chair and most of all don't use this vendor. When I asked them about the delay, they basically threw it back on me saying they were sorry "my expectations" of when the chair was to arrive were wrong. Look up the chair. It says it will arrive in a week! Overall, my experience was bad, the vendor was not truthful and wouldnt give me a refund even after Amazon said I could request one because it was so late to arrive, the chair has a fault of some sort where the middle scrapes the ground, and the SMELL. Don't buy. Do not buy.

Foot rest is large enough, sits comfortably at a 40" desk.

The "Modway Charge Drafting Chair" was easy to put together. It sits high enough for my purposes and the cushion is good, better than I expected. I saw that some people complained about the foot rest/ring being too small, but it seems to be the standard size ring that I am use to. I have no trouble using it with heels or toes. If it helps, I am 5'11' and the chair fits me fairly good, I could see someone somewhat taller using it as well. It does have a reclining feature and the gas shock sinks about 1 and 3/4" when I am on it. I bought it to replace a high bar stool that I use at my computer desk, it is a great improvement! When you open the box and look at the shock, it doesn't seem like it will be tall enough but it has a good bit of raise.
