I bought this chair for my wife to use in her sewing studio (as I call it). She has pretty significant scoliosis, and the chairs height, support and comfort were all key factors we considered. The chair did not not disappoint! The parts were well protected when they were packaged and everything arrived damage free. The hardware was beautifully organized and the directions were extremely well presented. I can be a pretty picky guy, but I have nothing to complain about. The hardware was nice quality and everything went together smoothly. In a rare, but very welcome gesture some extra hardware was included, but I did not need it. Wow...a little extra thought for the customer. I wish other companies would follow this example and both use quality hardware and include some extra pieces. When my wife sat in it for the first time she said it was "awesome". That's a direct quote. In summation: high quality components in a nice design that's comfortable and easy to assemble; and at a great price. I considered other chairs costing more money, and in some cases a LOT more money. When you consider the above and that the price was so reasonable it makes the decision easy. I recommend this chair highly, with no reservations. Folks, that's as good as it gets! ... show more

I purchased this chair after many months of making do with house chairs that was so unsupportive to my back. I need something with a thick cushion, wheels, harms that raised and adjustable height for my adjustable height desk. This Chair is PERFECT!!! I love the feel of it and the height of it. I'm a little different as I like to sit in my chair Indian style sometimes and this works great for me. Being able to raise the arm rest is phenomenal and was a requirement for me. The wheels move smoothly across the carpet and I do not need a mat . This was the perfect price point and the quality is great. Strong chair and great back support. You cant go wrong with this one. It took me less than 30 minutes to put together at a leisurely pace. Just make sure to angel the arms properly and you will get it attached easily. ... show more

I bought this chair for my home office and it turned out to be good purchase. The seat cushion with the synthetic leather is quite nice. I won’t say it is the most comfortable seat out there but for the price it is nice. The synthetic leather arm rests are nice as well and have a soft touch to them. My only gripe about this chair is that it has a forward tilt to it. Someone also mentioned about it in the comments but I figured it was a fluke. But my chair also has the weird tilt when you sit upright. I like to switch between standing and sitting a lot so i dont notice too much. Update : 2.5 years later : This chair is still doing fantastic. No rips or tears or “wear marks”. Also, the forward tilt is also gone. It must have been because the new spring needed time to break in. ... show more

Nice things: - Chair is very comfortable (in my mind) - Material on the chair seems fairly durable (seems very sturdy - not like some of those paper-thin fake-leather finishes you see on some cheap office furniture) - I find the back very comfortable as well - My favorite feature is the ability to lean back. Others have complained about the tension adjustment, but it seems to work great for me. - Very happy with the price Negatives: - I don't use the footrest much on it, but it seems to always fall down and doesn't seem to fasten in place very tightly. It doesn't bother me personally, but that might be something to consider. You might be able to improve it yourself with some adjustments if that was important to you. On the other hand, the lowest position for the foot rest is decently high up, so depending on how long your legs are, you might not need to adjust it anyway. Neutral: - Assembly was moderately easy. The back gets attached to a chassis piece, which then gets attached to the seat, and the seat gets attached to the adjustment mechanism. This is all done with screws - so there were quite a few screws and I wonder if maybe some of that could come pre-assembled (e.g., chassis to seat or seat to back rest). However, I don't mind, especially for the price and tilt feature! ... show more

    • Most uncomfortable chair I've ever had

I've been working at home full-time for about a decade. As you might imagine, I've been through a fair number of chairs in that time. Recently, I switched to a sit-stand desk that's programmable and fully adjustable. I decided I'd like a drafting chair to keep me closer to the standing height even when sitting, but also to make the transition faster. After some research, I settled on the Modway Attainment chair. The good: It looks fine. I like that the armrests can be lifted out of the way. After some adjustments, it reclines and move easily. The price is solid. The bad: It's just flat the most uncomfortable chair I've ever owned of any type, period. I don't know what's happening, but within seconds of sitting in this chair, my butt, lower back, and upper legs are all screaming at me. In an attempt to salvage the chair, I bought a $30 memory foam pad. While it helped a little, it only delays the severe pain by about 5 minutes, tops. Right now, I'm sitting in a $30 Ikea chair with no adjustments and I'm much more comfortable. To be clear, this chair it not a good chair either, so I'm getting something else. ... show more
