I bought my first stand-up/adjustable desk a little over a year ago. I already owned an office desk chair and figured that would be all I needed. I could adjust my desk to the standard desk height and if I wanted to stand up I could just push the chair aside. Wrong! As the birthdays go by I am less and less interested in standing at any desk. I was looking at a cheaper adjustable stool but the reviews talked about replacing the casters before even using it, or that the armrests did not adjust beyond one or two settings. I was also looking for a stool that would let me push away from the desk and stretch my back ie. a flexible backrest. This adjustable chair has it all! Plus it has considerable weight and very strong construction. I could not be happier with my purchase. The padding is great. Armrests adjust independently to five different heights. I am 5'11" and weigh 194. When I used the foot ring to "step up" to the seat, I found out that the review comments about the foot ring were correct. The screw knob just won't hold the position. To resolve this, I took a standard metal hose clamp, put it just below the foot ring on the lift cylinder, and tightened it down tight. The problem is solved! You can't even see the clamp unless you go looking for it! I love this chair. Very easy to assemble and it arrived quickly with no damage. This chair is very sturdy and comfortable. Lots of padding in the seat, I like the mesh back. I did change the wheels to some that can be locked. I thought the chair was black but the fabric is a dark brown and the trim is black. I still love the chair. Hopefully it will last a long time.

Easy to instal. Cushion and arm rest are SUPER CONFY. Love that. But I found the foot rest is too short/ diameter is too small. Feet don’t rest comfortable and are too far back and knees hurt in a short while. Soooo disappointed because the rest of the chair is sooooo comfortable. I was thinking of returning the chair. What is the point of paying and keeping something that hurt your knees? Right? I wrote to the company owner Mr Charles to let him know of this design flaw and ask if they had a larger diameter foot rest. Mr Charles answered very quickly stating that they had also noticed this and had ordered a larger one (2 inches larger). They are sending larger diameter foot rest!!! Keeping my new chair ! :) Update: I received the larger foot rest within days. Could not be more happy! I had to replace a previous drafting chair that didn't quite make 11 months of 4-6 hours every weekday use. This chair was initially more comfortable, but needed a seat cushion after a week. However, the back reclines (can easily be locked) and that can make long meetings more tolerable. The height is also better than the previous one I owned, but at 6'3" that likely means something different to others. I did buy this with a raised foot rest and I would recommend that as dangling your feet off the edge of a chair can impede circulation and cause swelling in your lower legs. This chair moves easier on burber than my previous one. Assembly was simple enough and the directions are printed on the inside box lid as well as on paper. The hex key was included, as were some spare bolts and washers. If you have a hex set of your own with a more comfortable grip, I would suggest going with that. Just don't try to use a drill or even an electric screwdriver as it is easy to strip the threads. Hand tight is perfectly fine for this. ... show more

    • Easy to assemble & has lots of adjustability

My chair just arrived today. It was easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to follow (pictures only). The back support feels just right. You can adjust the tilt of the chair back, the handle height, and the chair height. I have three points of constructive criticism. It would be great if the chair could also lower down to a normal office chair height as I saw some other brands advertise. I also feel the foot ring needs a larger diameter to actually offer a comfortable foot perch. As it is, my knees must be very bent in order to touch the foot ring. (I'm 5'7") The third issue is that the little black covers that disguise the screws just pop right out of the hole after insertion. I was able to put a little bit of rolled scotch tape on the outer edge of the plug prior to insertion and this provided just enough grip to stay in place. Overall, I am very happy with the chair.     • foot rest ring is useless because it is too small

I searched and read so many reviews and finally ordered this chair, because it looked sturdy and comfortable. I am so very disappointed in the foot rest ring, you need it to get up into the chair, to raise the seat and for comfort. It is too small, in diameter, you have to search for it and them it is too far back to be comfortable to place your feet on to get on the chair. My other issue with the chair is that the seat is not as deep (front to back) than I thought and it feels like you are not in the chair. I'm a senior and I suffer from polymyalgia I was so hoping that I could use this in my kitchen so I would be able to cook and clean in comfort. I have a hard time moving around, I am short, I am round and I am old. Now I have a chair I am struggling with and feel like I made a terrible mistake. Please anyone with mobility issues this chair is not for you, choose another, I with that I had. There are good points, the directions for assembly are very plain to understand, the chair is built very well, it is sturdy, it is heavy weight, it was packaged well and came in good order. If I thought I could repackage and return I would, for me this is not the right chair, so I have spent money I should not have. ... show more
