I've been buying dip powder and gel polishs since the pandemic started but I still consider myself a beginner when it comes to doing my own nails. Pros: This set comes with quite a few colors and along with glitters, color changing, and glow in the dark so it's a very nice variation. It comes with the base/top coat and the activator so it's pretty much all in one cause some sets only come with powders and you have to buy them separately. Cons: The brush for the base/top coat got stiff and clumped up after applying it to a few nails so it was a bit difficult to apply evenly. (I did notice after closing it and leaving it there for a while it went back to normal so it could have been the way I was applying it I'm not too sure) The powders are EXTREMELY small! As per the instructions you're supposed to dip your finger in the powder after you apply a thin layer of the base coat which I did but given the size of the jar and the amount that came in the the moment you out your finger in there it starts to spill over. Fortunately I brought a "Dip powder recycling tray" a while back so I utilized it when doing my nails this time. Normally the size I buy is 12g while this one is only 8g. The 8g is a good size to try out at first so you can see what colors you like but it just makes application very messy. I definitely recommend getting one if you're going to buy this set. Tip for beginners: Make sure you have a brush (I brought a makeup brush but they have smaller brushes) to wipe away the excess powder that will be on your nail (I personally brush it right back into the jar) Hopefully this helps someone. ... show more

Came fast & on time. Included all of the indicated colors in "sample" size jars. The amount of product is enough to do 2 to 3 full sets of dip (medium/short length). Each of the sample sticks is 2 dips. It also came with a base/top coat & activator. The packaging was nice and cute; all jars came with a protective seal. There was a full set of instructions with pictures - perfect for beginners. Be sure to wait for a full 30 seconds at least before brushing off excess powder & redipping or activating. No complaints! 3 of the colors had sparkles/glitter. 1 coat is very sheer, 2 coats are decent coverage but 3 coats would probably be the magic number for this dip. The dip was fairly fine & not gritty. It doesn't go on too thick either so more than 1 or 2 coats shouldn't be a problem. ... show more

    • Great dip powder set for pink/purple fans
This is a great set for a variety of pink and purple colors. I wouldn’t call it a beginner set though since it does not come with the brush you should use to remove excess powder from your nails following each dip. The powder containers are all filled to the brim upon opening the package which is AWESOME because they don’t skimp on it... but also makes it difficult to not have it overflow once you stick your finger in there to dip it. I made a giant mess doing my nails but it’s a bit expected so not much to worry about there. The smell of the liquid coatings are quite strong though so be sure you have great ventilation wherever you choose to do your nails. I used the lightest version of pink/nude I could see and did three coats of dipping to produce a solid non-translucent color. According to item details, there is a color changing option and/or glow in the dark powder in this set but I’m not entirely sure which powders do that; it would be nice to have those “special powders” labeled :) overall, a great dip set for the cost! ... show more

I used this product on my natural nails and I must say its really easy to use and the colors are so beautiful and calm. I like how secure the packaging was upon arrival like the powders were not spilled inside of the packaging and each bottle had a secure seal once you remove the cap. if your looking for something quick, beautiful and sturdy I would recommend this product. I followed the instructions. I did not skip any steps. After, washing my hands I notice the peach/orange look was changing to the pink color. I was like ok maybe the color changes after washing your hands. The next step was to apply another layer of activator. When I added the activator the color changed back to peach/orange color and not the intended Pink. The peach/orange is cute but not what I wanted. I also noticed a few days later that when I washed my hands the pink shows for a small amount of time. The other colors in the pack are not as bright so I'm not too confident on the outcome. Plus some nails starting to chip within the week.. Will try a different brand with more colors to be safe. ... show more

I never write reviews but I had such fun doing my nails I thought I would. I can’t have long fancy nails due to my occupation but I love dip because it lasts under daily wear and tear...but I was tired of paying for it. This DIY kit was so easy and I’ve tried others. I don’t know maybe I had beginners luck but I feel they turned out pretty well for just winging it. I didn’t know when I applied it, but this coral color changes to yellow with heat...pretty cool. Anyhow, I definitely have some skills to work on, like buffing a little better (and fixing my cuticles), but for right out of the box and done mani in 20 mins it was totally worth it. Oh - the fumes from the 2-1 base burned my eyes, tears and all, but it worked just fine (i’ll remember goggles next time). Now to put them to the test to see how long it lasts! ... show more

This is a good brand to use. I have purchased from this company before and this product doesn’t disappoint. I would have given 5 stars on everything, except this item does not come with a dusting brush to make the set feel complete. Note the size of the jars. Some dip powder jars are small and some are large, but you can get plenty of dips out of any size jar you purchase. ... show more

The product was very easy to use. I used a pink color powder for my first application today, but the end result was an orangey color, not even close to pink, so I'm not happy about that. I won't know about the other colors for a time. I hope the other colors are true to the powder color when I do nails the next time. ... show more
