I was a total beginner, and while it took a few tries to get it right, I'm totally addicted to dip now! You'll be able to do dozens of manicures with this kit, though the bottles might need replacing before the powders. I ordered more from this brand because it really just came out nice. P.S. TO REMOVE COMPLETELY W/O A FILE, IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES (even 3-4 coats): -Get a sandwich bag, a paper towel, some oil, some ACETONE, and a bowl of hot water -Soak the paper towel in acetone and put it in the bag -Put some oil all over your fingers (literally any oil) to protect the skin and cuticles -Put your fingers in the bag and position the paper towel around nails -Submerge bag in hot water and wait 5-10 min, VOILA! ... show more

I bought these liquids because my others had started getting goopy and these were cheap enough that I was willing to take a chance. I actually really like these - more than the other three companies I have used. It took me a few fingers to figure it out though; it's REALLY IMPORTANT to take a minute between each step. Base, dip One minute Base, dip One minute etc. Otherwise it will not activate/harden and will be super gummy when you try to file it. I do recommend another coat of activator after you file. I wait a minute and then wipe off with a cloth/paper towel and then put the top coat on. This is legit the only set of liquids that I have not had issues with the top coat being cloudy and gross. ... show more

First kit and my first time at it. I have to say, it was pretty easy. I tested in a few nails first and went well. I did choose to sprinkle the power over with a small spoon rather than dipping. Made it more even. To take it off I just put a cotton ball with acetone based nail polish remover in the nail and wrapped with a little foil for 10 minutes. Came right off with a nail scrap g tool. Great kit, but I'd YouTube better directions and tips 😉 ... show more

I've tried everything from natural nails, nail polish, gel polish, acrylic extensions, press ons...never found a solid replacement for going to the salon, and I hate the salon for the time and expense and inconsistent quality. This was my first time trying dip, I removed my acrylics and started from scratch. Still wanted length so I followed instructions (mostly from online/youtube) on how to do dip over nail tips. Definitely way faster and easier (and a more natural result) than acrylics! This was a great kit to get started, I especially like the soft brush and carrying case it came with. The jars are a good size and will last long. Colors look great (they look different in the jar but change to the colors pictured when finished). There's definitely a learning curve – pay attention to really buff completely smooth before applying top coat, but also to dip enough times to completely coat. Also be careful the activator that hasn't completely absorbed and is left on the surface will make the top coat dry matte instead of glossy (this can be avoided by wiping the surface of the nail with a cloth before applying top coat, so I was able to buff again and fix after researching online). Finished product looks amazing! And now that I know what I'm doing I'm sure it will get easier each time. About to order more colors now! Only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because I think the instructions could be more detailed since it's supposed to be a starter kit, but this can all be learned by some online research before you try. ... show more

So, it appears that most of my issue is inexperience. I feel like the polish is wayyyy too thick and uneven, but I’m sure that will improve as my skill improve. That said, DO NOT try to use this product over any surface you value. I'll admit, I was skeptical about the quality of the product at first. But, I was surprised by how great it actually is! First, there are easy to follow instructions, but in my haste to try the product, I skimmed past them. So, for longevity, you need to file your nail first and then wipe it with an alcohol pad or acetone. That makes a huge difference. The pigments looked off from the ones advertised when I first received my package, so I was disappointed. However, once you apply the activator the color changes and is just like the ones shown. They are beautiful. This kit comes with multiple accessories (extra brushes and the file), which don't come with many of the other kits I was researching. The value is there in the product. There was also a discount that I was able to apply to my order, which made it impossible for me to not try. The process is sooo easy and I was able to do it myself, even with my non-dominant hand. If you're on the fence, try it. I promise, you won't be disappointed. I am already looking to buy more colors to add to my collection and have bragged to family about how amazing and simple it is to use. Go for it! ... show more
