On receiving this nail color palette, I tried one of the colors on top of an existing manicure just to see if I'd be able to see it at all--with only one layer I definitely couldn't, but it was on top of a very dark green so I wasn't shocked or alarmed. Yesterday I took time to try it on bare nails. The pale pink-to-light red color was challenging to apply: the gel with glitter is a little lumpy and doesn't apply as smooth as the non-glitter colors of Modelones solid gel palette. As the color came in contact with my nails, the reddish color turned to ultra light, transparent, pink (from the heat of my finger) and it was hard to make a tidy line at the cuticle. I went for 3 coats of color because I couldn't really see much except for the glitter with only 2 coats. In hindsight, I wish I'd had cold hands when applying this color: 2 coats might have been sufficient but I'm really not sure since I didn't try to cool my hands for a look at that point. After a coat of topcoat I ran my hands under cool sink water and was wowed with how well the red color appeared. It's not a neat polish job and definitely doesn't look professional since I couldn't make a nice cuticle line like I normally do, but another color that isn't so light might help on that front. I frequently have cold hands, so I do get color change during the course of my day-to-day even though it's summer, but I could imagine that people who don't run cold or who live some place hotter than me (CO) might end up seeing the "hot" color just about all the time. The different colors in the palette appeared to have a *slightly* different color change point, probably just a degree or few of difference at most. This is my 3rd palette of Modelones solid gels. I got the first two at once and had mostly decided I wouldn't get any more, but the color changing option was too tempting. I'm glad I tried it because the color change is pretty cool. I definitely prefer the "regular" bottles of gels, though. The compact size of the palettes is appealing for conserving bathroom storage (I seriously can't see myself using it "for travel" when it's still going to require bringing along base and top coat and a lamp). I mostly don't like the fuss of cleaning the brush (which I don't do until I want to use it for another color so I can possibly minimize waste on these tiny pots of color). I can't speak to the longevity of this particular color yet but other colors of Modelones have lasted me a couple weeks even when I file off my nail tips (I don't like having nails click on the keyboard while I work so I file my nails short each week of a home manicure even though I know it reduces the wear time of my nail job). I didn't have high hopes for quality for this low-price brand, but it does last almost as well as the OPI gel polish I otherwise use. Really, after 2-2.5 weeks I don't care anymore if I've botched it by filing because I'm ready to get it off and let my nails have a few days of recovery before choosing a new color anyway. ... show more

I never thought to look at nail polish palette but here I am. I love this- it’s an inexpensive way to have many colors and not take up a ton of space. Loved all the colors in the palette I got. I find using the brush and the thicker polish from the palettes allow me more control so I don’t spend as much time cleaning the gel off my skin between cures. However, I find it takes 3 coats to get a solid color for anything dark compared to some of my bottled gel polishes that take one, maybe 2 thin coats to be solid. On top of that, the amount of pressure applied could make that even more; press too hard while painting your nails and it’ll be like you did almost nothing/wipe off what uncured polish was there. Starts to chip about the same as my other gel polishes. For me that’s not as long as a manicure from a salon (but again this is all of my gel polishes regardless of brand), but I’m not a professional at all so my application of polish could be my issue. YMMV. I’ve done 3 full manicures using one color, 3 coats each nail, and still have plenty of color left. A little goes a long way if applied right, so this should last me a bit!! I got myself super hyped for this product, it seemed super fun and cute and compact which it was, iv ordered 2 others which I'm looking forward to, my only complaint was the lack of pigmentation in the black, it was very translucent and for my French tip I had to switch over to my what's up nails black stamping polish which is highly pigmented so everything worked pit, just disappointed that I couldn't use the pallette for everything in this set, the black hole glitter polish was so much fun tho there was so much glitter I didn't have to worry about getting an even coverage at all. And the colors go really well together, I'm excited to try out more!! Edit, a few days after doing these nails the gel came off the press om in one piece, honestly that's gonna happen with any gels, just don't be like me and make sure you put a base coat and if you wanna be extra lightly file the surface of the nail so it's got something to hold onto ... show more

I've been doing my nails at home for years. Whether liquid gel polish, dip powder, etc., but I've always found it time consuming and none of it ever lasted the 2 weeks it should have. I somehow came across this and the price was right so I gave it a try. First of all, it's the easiest thing I've ever applied! No more getting it on your cuticle or side walls! It goes directly on your nail, period. The trick is doing VERY thin coats. I found that 2 or 3 really thin coats give me the full color I want, but is still super easy to work with. My nails last a full 2 weeks, and I'm ROUGH on my nails. I'm really amazed by this stuff, I wish I'd found it sooner! ... show more

I love that there’s so many colors for one low price. I do my nails at home and it’s more than enough for several uses each! Just ordered two different color cubes today! If you have the thin liner brushes for art, the consistency of the gel is great for nail art !

I have never used a solid gel polish before and after researching, I decided to try it. I followed the instructions and chose a light color to try first, and for my first attempt, I am very happy with the polish. The polish went on easily, and with 2 coats I decided to top coat and finish. I am looking forward to trying other colors. I'm a newer nail tech and had seen a few of these gel pallets and really wanted to test it out. It definitely takes some getting used to in figuring out how to smooth it out. The addition of the brush is super nice but I might consider trying it out with a different one. Colors are super pretty and very pigmented after 2 coats.
