We have a wood tv cabinet that was originally built (by my dad many years ago) for an old box style tv. Now that smart tvs are thin, it sits on top , we had shelves in the tv hole. Adding the fireplace adds such nice ambiance to the room.

We purchased this to go in the bottom of a coffee bar. We bought this because of the measurements. It fit perfect in the opening. Clearly it’s not a real fireplace, however it does ad some charm and some warmth for the winter.

The media could not be loaded. Several years ago I bought a gel fireplace. Lately, the gel prices are astronomical, and when we moved to another State, I wanted to bring the fireplace but knew I wouldn't be using the gel very much. So I found this electric insert and modified the fireplace (took out the holder that held the cans of gel) and was able to fit this insert inside. It's obviously a fake fireplace, but I think it looks nice in our master bedroom. Haven't needed the heater portion yet but it seems to put out a little bit of heat-definitely not a substitute for a furnace, but it adds just a little extra warmth.     • Puts out good heat and is simple to use.
Our old unit died after years of use. This one was attractive to us for several reasons: It is a good price for what you are getting. It was very close to the size of our old unit. I had to make some minor modifications to the wooden mantle to get this to fit, but that is to be expected. We bought this unit to heat the TV room only. It is not meant to heat a whole house, nor is it meant to run all day every day. It is perfect for a couple of hours to take the chill off. It has very realistic flames. I was most concerned about damage in transit due to the glass screen, but that was a non-issue due to good packaging. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a supplemental heat source. As a general rule of caution, never ever leave these types of heater units running unattended. If you leave the room for any reason or go to bed, shut it off. ... show more
