Introducing Nickel Chromoly – A new material with so much additional ball speed, our engineers switched their focus to feel and stopping power. At 35% stronger than our original Hot Metal material, 4335 Nickel Chromoly enables a high-energy 8% thinner clubface. Combined with Mizuno’s vibration controlling V-Chassis and deep CG design, the JPX923 Hot Metal irons are as enjoyable and controllable as they are long. The HL model is a higher launching option for players with moderate swing speeds or aggressive shaft lean. The Combo sets includes JPX Fli-Hi long irons for ease of launch at slower swing speeds.

    • Great irons. Forgiving yet accurate
Fourth set of irons I've owned. Favorite so far. These are usually listed as Super GI irons. I'd say in reality they barely are. My golfing buddy has Mizuno 825s which are GI's and the 923 HL's are just a smidge more chonkier so I'd say these are right on the line of GIs and Super GIs. So far Long Irons controllability is what has impressed me the most. I normally golf at The Highest Course in North America. Balls go far, often fly wild, and long low shots often have a ton of rollout. The 923 HL 5 iron substantially reduced the rollout compared to my old distance GI 5 iron but had a longer flight time so distance remained relatively the same. So they work as advertised for Mid to High Handicappers. My 5 iron shot is alot less wild. I had 3 shots from 175-185 out 9 holes (Once again I golf at 10k feet so that makes my swing sound more powerful than it actually is 😆). The 5 iron managed to put the ball 10 feet from green on two shots and the third shot beautifully rolled onto center green. I was pretty impressed. Also it's going to take some adjustment but early impressions are these will greatly improve my recovery punch shots which is surprising for a Super GI so don't think these aren't controllable. I may take the Gap out of my bag for my old one. Don't think I like it much although I like a wedge more on the blade end. That being said I also picked up a Mizuno S23 Sand Wedge which has a slight cavity and weighted toe and I love it. ... show more

I have Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metal with graphite shaft and love them. If I wear these out I would definitely buy Mizuno again. JPX 923 looks same as 919. These clybs look beautiful and provide just the right balance of cavity back and muscles. You won't regret buying Mizumo irons.
