I'm surprised at how well this straightener works. My hair is fine and mixed (wavy/coily) and has a mind of its own. A flat iron works well, but can't get to the roots; a straightening comb can get to the roots but I sometimes burn my ears, neck, etc. With this straightening brush, I can get to the roots of my hair without burning my scalp, straighten the nape area without burning my neck or ears, all on the low setting. And, I can straighten my hair in almost half the time of a flat iron or straightening comb. The only downside is that the ends of my hair can be a hit or miss: sometimes I can get them straight; sometimes they are a little poofy. In the long run, I do recommend the straightener and will be getting one for my mother.
