Better than Curly Pudding

Where has this product been all my life?! My curls are 3B: Curly Spirally texture and this is the best product I've used so far including other Miss Jessie's products, Deva Curl, Mixed Chicks, and various drugstore brands. As is true for most curly-haired women, I need to use A LOT of product to keep my curls from becoming too poofy, so oil/moisture content is important. I was using the Curly Pudding as recommended by my stylist for a long time and while it left my curls looking sleek and moisturized, it was so oily I felt like I had returned to the Jheri Curl era. The Curly Meringue on the other hand, makes my curls super spirally, without all of the oil. If you feel you need more moisture, leave in more conditioner or apply the Baby Buttercream before applying the Curly Meringue. It also makes my curls last much better into the second day than the Curly Pudding, which would just leave my curls completely flattened after sleeping, even if I wrapped my hair. Just a note, this does give your hair a fair amount of "lift", so my curls were about 1-2 inches shorter/tighter using this product than the Curly Pudding, but there was no poof or added volume. But this allows me to go longer between my expensive Deva cuts, so I love it. But if your curls are on the short side and you're trying to elongate them, go with something else. Yes it's expensive, but nothing else works like this for my hair.

Long lasting curls

I love miss Jessie’s products! It’s non-greasy, once applied I use a defuser so it can dry extra quick and this product specifically last in my hair 2 days sometimes 3 without me having to touch it up.

Great curls but zero moisture...

This product arrived in 3 weeks which is great considering I live in Turkey. It smells amazing! I could smell the good stuff off of the bottle even when it was still wrapped in the plastic packaging. Aside from that, I believe the quality of this leave-in depends on each person’s hair type. My hair type is somewhere between 2C and 3A. I used half a teaspoon for all my hair since it’s not too thick and it gave my curls this natural curls look after I diffused them. However, I gave this leave-in 3 stars because it felt dry on my hair even after allowing it to dry which is disappointing because I really hoped that it would leave my curls moisturized. It may have looked good but it felt uncomfortable. I know it may not be important to some people but I personally think providing moisture should be the primary goal for any curly hair product. My hear felt dry on my fingers instead of gliding smoothly. Maybe it is because of my hair type or the fact that my hair is dyed. If you want to buy this product but are skeptical about it, I suggest you go ahead and try it for yourself because as I mentioned previously it depends on every person’s hair type. It may have not worked for me but it may work for you!

My favorite hair product!

I'm going to start this review off with a disclaimer: I am white and have very fine, fluffy curls. This product is probably not made with me in mind. But, I picked some of this up at Target originally, and I was hooked. Because my hair is so fine, I use a very small amount (maybe a teaspoon or two) and mostly on the ends and air-dry as much as possible. I also use the "Pillow Soft" product when I need a little extra conditioning. This gives me bouncy, shiny, not-crispy curls with far less frizz and stickiness than any other product I've tried. I only get crunchy if I accidentally use too much in one spot. Since I need to use so little, an 8-oz jar lasts me months; which is good because I've moved and Target in my new area doesn't carry it. Best product!

Great for all types of hair!

I love love love this product. I have 4a/4b hair and this product has been the best thing yet for my braid as outs and twist outs. My hair feels extremely light, it’s not hair, has bounce and it retains curls for several days. It doesn’t make my hair feel sticky like a lot custards can. It is expensive but it’s worth it. I highly recommend it.
