Used this unit twice and on the third outing a meltdown occurred. I was out in the middle of the lake when I checked the “test” button and it was showing in the red. I also began to smell plastic burning. Headed back to the dock. I do not know how the terminal came in contact with the terminal. I saw a couple of other review about this issue online. First thing...check all the connections. Mine were all loose and would have caused a major issue. As others have said..the main wing nuts connections strip out of the box quickly...like after the 2nd time I hooked my trolling motor up. Hasn't even left the garage yet. I've resorted to using pliers to squeeze and hold the connections so I can tighten the wing nuts. Hence why they look all beat up in the pics. Sad quality...even worse quality control. ... show more
