I have been running this trolling motor for about 6 years now, and the only problem has been the foot controls. The foot controls seldom last more than a year, so I have had to buy a lot of them. Once Minn Kota was kind enough to send me one free, but it lasted less than 4 months. When the foot control is working, it is great. Advice - keep a spare foot control on board.     • Absolutely lousy purchase. No Stars!!!
Right out of the box and as soon as it was deployed the motor was extremely noisy (like a lawnmower) . I called Minkota customer service and was told I would have to take it in for warranty service. Now I'm waiting for the motor to be repaired and I was also told Minkota's website was down and that delayed part ordering. I was also told that there have been several issues with Minkota motors, espescially if ordered online. I don't know if I will ever see the motor before the summer ends. I should have just returned it to Amazon but now that I took it to the warranty servicer it's out of my hands and I'm stuck. PS. This motor was to replace a previously purchased same model motor which quit working after a year and a half or so of use. ... show more

The motor does not turn left or right anymore. Looked online and it looks like I need a replacement part. Also the foot pedal sticks.

No longer works. After 8 weeks of working fine it just stopped working! The motor continues humming even though the control panel is turned off. I spent $900 and they only cover for first 30 days? That’s not right. Half the summer without the boat. A very important week with the kids and their cousins visiting the lake and the boat is not operating. Very very disappointed. ... show more
