Description

Technologies leading innovation Let the Minn Kota CoPilot System do the navigating--you've got work to do! Minn Kota's new Wireless CoPilot allows you to free yourself from operating your PowerDrive V2 motor so that you can focus on fishing. The CoPilot receiver installs easily on the side of your bow-mount trolling Powerdrive V2 motor using only two screws. It relies on a remote control to give you the power to turn and adjust speed without actually handling the motor. Includes adaptability for a foot pedal to be used along with the CoPilot.

  • I Made it Fit and I Like It
I purchased a Minn Kota "Power Drive" a few weeks ago and decided I don't like the foot pedal control. After doing some Google searches, I determined my unit was a Power Drive 2 based on the serial number and recent manufacture date even though it doesn't say Power Drive 2 on the unit. I ordered this Copilot system believing it would just attach to the side of my trolling motor. I'm pretty good at figuring things out and reading instructions. However, the side plate on my Power Drive has too much of a curve to allow the Copilot shell to sit flush and attach with the longer bolts provided. As I was thinking about ways to make it fit, I discovered the inside of the existing right side shell has a spot with screw holes for the circuit board and little channels to hold the antennae. So, I discarded the Copilot shell and just moved the circuit board to my existing shell. There is a small opening for the cables to route through (be careful to not interfere with the lift mechanism or stress where the wires attach to the circuit board). Then I followed the instructions for attaching the control cables (I kept the various connectors outside the front of the enclosure). I am giving this 5 stars because it works wonderfully. I'm leaving this review as a cautionary tale for others. I may have voided the warranty and I suspect there is a different upgrade kit out there somewhere that doesn't involve discarding the Copilot shell. ... show more

  • I love a Co-Pilot
I'm in the process of buying all the parts I need to get a 16' Lund Pike back on the water. My brother got the boat with a 75hp Merc. For a good price. He just needed the motor for another boat he has. That he likes fishing out of more. So he gave the Pike to me. Complete with a 55lb Minnkota bow mount Powerdrive. With one caviot. He was going to keep the Co-Pilot provided it worked on his 50lb thrust Minnkota. It wasn't listed as a trolling motor that would work with the Co-Pilot. Fortunately for him even though the side of the 50lb Minnkota has a different profile so the CP didn't fit flush to the side. With 1 longer screw the Co-Pilot was solid. Low and behold it worked for him. Fast forward from late fall 23 to early spring 24. I've been buying as many parts as possible ever month. Wires, lights, switches etc etc. I just built a new axle this last week. I still need resin for the wood. A set of new tires and a few other odds and ends. Even though that'll take another $500 give or take. Not counting a lithium battery. I HAD TO replace the Co-Pilot mid stream. I knew I wouldn't be satisfied out on the lake without it. So even though I haven't seen my new Co-Pilot work yet, I'm confident it will. I'm looking forward to getting out on the lakes. If there is a problem my guess is customer service will help out. If not I will update my review. If you never see an update you can be sure I'm just another satisfied customer lovin havin a Co-Pilot! ... show more

  • 5 stars highly recommended
The media could not be loaded. I have a Minnkota PowerDrive v2. This system works great. It comes with two longer screws, you unscrew the two on the right side of the motor. Put the cowl on and use the longer screws to reattach. It’s one plug and then you can use remote or petal. I wear the lanyard on my neck and just adjust speed and direction while I’m fishing. I’m really happy I got this and would recommend 10/10 👍 price is good to. ... show more

  • A MUST HAVE!!!
Why this isn't a stock feature on a Minn Kota trolling motor is beyond me, but this is a life saver. I debated on this item for months after buying my new boat and I finally bit the bullet when taxes came back. The install is literally a five minute job maybe even less. It bolts onto your existing motor shell and then you simply plug in the cables and your off to the races! The remote is very responsive and works flawlessly. I do not do a lot of bass fishing, but I do troll for trout and this is such a nice feature to have while fighting a fish. The ease of controls around your neck in my opinion is something you must have. The foot pedal just got to be too much and was cumbersome in the boat. Minn Kota has made a great product and to fish without this on your boat is just indescribable. I especially like the fact that the product works from a distance and you can still control your boat even if your not inside of it. If you are an avid fisherman, then this is definitely a must have for your boat no matter what species you troll for. I could only imagine the added benefit if I was to bass fish more often. I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend to anyone! ... show more

  • Amazing for the price
Although there's really not a lot to it, it's still kinda amazing what you get for the money here when you consider what it costs to buy a remote controlled trolling motor new versus a non remote one. If you have an older power drive, this upgrade is a no brainer. Works great. The remote could be bigger. It would be easier to use if it was larger. ... show more

  • Works better than clutsy footpeddle....
Definitely a must if you troll with these Minnkota's much. The install is effortless. Definitely beats the clutsy, cumbersome poorly designed foot peddle. Should automatically come with the trolling motor but it is more profitable to sell after the fact to actually make there products be useful. Found this as the best alternative to the incredibly overpriced iPilot which requires investing in overpriced fish finders to link with. Only wished this had the anchor function and it would be the perfect set up. Takes a little time to pair your intuition with the switches as to how fast, direction and what the heck the center button does and what all the beeps mean. Likely stay away from craggy shores until you get it down so you don't damage your boat or motor. ... show more

  • Gives me a remote for my old v2 minnkota!
Installed in less then 15 minutes. Tried it right away and works great! So much better then spending alot of a different trolling motor! Shipping did take a bit. Like 2 or 3 weeks though.

  • A must have if you own the motor.
I needed a new foot control unit for my motor. I always ran the foot control with my hands anyway, so when I saw the Copilot unit it was perfect. It installed in just a few minutes with just a screwdriver. It works great. no more cluncky wired control unit to drag around the boat. The only thing that would make it better would be a button to turn on/off the autopilot. ... show more
