  • LOVE IT!!
Size: 52-Inch Shaft
This product could not be found ANYWHERE when I bought it!! Amazon had it. This TM is a great addition to your life on the lake. Controls are easy to use. Remote control is AWESOME!! Plenty of power for my 1860 Xpress even in the wind. I do not like the fact that the TM has to have the foot controller connected all the time instead of being stored in case you need it but that’s a manufacturer flaw, not the seller. Ive used this TM 2-3x a week since I purchased it and it has worked great. ... show more

  • Amazing Trolling Motor
Size: 45-Inch Shaft
Although pricey, this is the finest piece of fishing equipment I have ever owned. I replaced the Edge trolling motor on my Bass Tracker with the Ultrex primarily because of spot lock. I now can go to my way points and concentrate on the fishing and not have to worry about boat control. I can work an area, then move 50 feet down the break and reset the spot lock. An added bonus is that I can also go the the back seat and fish the area behind the boat thus approaching that spot from a different angle. This motor makes a huge difference when fishing in windy conditions, as my primary lake is most of the time. The power steering assist makes it much easier to change direction, as well. At the end of the day, my back isn't as sore as it used to be and I've caught more fish. Additionally, I'm not mentally fried from fighting the wind to stay on my spots, especially after I've caught a fish and need to unhook it. My unit is the 80lb thrust unit which is perfect for my boat. The Edge trolling motor is ok but, in my mind, was under powered for windy conditions. ... show more

  • You gotta have one if these!
Size: 45-Inch Shaft
I absolutely despise the cliche "a game changer" as that's all I kept hearing from those that I would ask that were already running the Ultrex before I made my decision to make the investment. Now, all I can say is it's a GAME CHANGER! Kill me know! I just went there! My "home lake" is only <20 minutes to the ramp from home. Been fishing it for decades and it's grown into a very good Largemouth and even Smallmouth bass fishery but we have to deal with daily strong winds and that's always been a massively limiting aspect of catching good fish as you fight to stay on spot with conventional, foot controlled trolling motors. Spot-lock and/or the Nav-mode that allows you to set and run a course along the bank or wherever you choose, and be completely "hands (feet) off" is an incredible option that allows the angler to concentrate exclusively on presentation and not worry about running the boat. I find myself equating it to being a passenger in my own boat with absolute best seat in the house! I could go on and on about the huge benefits of this system but there's not enough bandwidth. There are 2 new players in this market with a few cool new features that the Ultrex doesn't "yet" have but they're somewhat minor in comparison and the capabilities of the new models don't give you any more significant tools or features, they're just another approach at similar functions but you'll pay an additional ONE THOUSAND dollars for those differences. Sorry, I'm drawing the line at $2400 for a frikkin' trolling motor! I thought THAT was insane! I'm seeing a some RFI on my Garmin plotter up front when actuating power on this unit and that started about 3 weeks after install. I'll be contacting Minn Kota about that but otherwise, there have not been ANY anomalies with this unit as was seen in the early generation from a couple years back. Mount your heading sensor puck back by the helm as described in the instructions, NOT up front like almost every single YouTube video shows the installers doing. TM power cables, Transducer cables, and that RFI generating stuff will have an adverse effect on how the sensor performs and I made that mistake initially. Sometimes, the unit would wander when in Spot-Lock or Nav-mode and would chase its preset course and the oscillations would get bigger and bigger as it chased for a course. Every time that happened, I noticed the foot pedal cable was laying over or very near the puck. I moved the puck back to the helm area just in front of the console and eliminated the issue 100%. It has never done it since. This is an awesome investment that I don't regret making one bit! ... show more

  • the foot pedal works just like my Fortrex
Size: 52-Inch Shaft
Now that I have finally been on the lake (5 hours), I would rate this as a 7 out of a possible 5. It is so much more then expected. I expect when spring fishing begins it is going to become invaluable for finding and following fish. Most important it feels very natural to use. Spotlock is incredible, the foot pedal works just like my Fortrex. I am still learning the unit and it is going to take a bit to understanding everything. My next quest is to follow the contour. I was on the lake today and could not figure it out. Found that I need to select a contour, then there is a choice to follow the contour or go to.it. There is a lot to learn. The only thing I find interesting is that the I-Pilot link remote is super big and heavy, I have got to wonder, with today's technology why is this so big and heavy. It is not something I would hang around my neck nor attach to a belt. Regardless I love it and would purchase again. ... show more

  • Super nice trolling motor!!
Size: 52-Inch Shaft
This is a very nice trolling motor and worth every penny if like to spend more time fishing instead of fighting the wind and or current. Spot lock is very accurate and super easy to use. The electric steering assist is amazing.

  • Fabulous with some not so fabulous aspects
Size: 45-Inch Shaft
This is beyond a doubt the way to go for most types of fishing. The spotlock feature alone is something I will never not have on any boat I ever buy. How's that for a double negative. So the downside, the control board went out three months after the warranty ran out. The authorized repair place wanted to know what the serial number was. They couldn't find it on the unit anywhere, including where the Minnkota website said it was. Apparently, it is on a sticker under the foot pedal, or perhaps better stated "was" on the sticker that "was" under the foot pedal, or perhaps better stated the "unsticker" that "was" on the foot pedal. For $2500 I'd expect a serial number you can find. One last observation, if your boat has a recessed foot pedal trough it may bind the steering cable coming out of the foot pedal. It won't like that. I had to put a shim under the front of mine so the cable doesn't bind. ... show more
