The Minn Kota Traxxis 55 itself is a fantastic trolling motor. It's powerful, quiet, and the one-hand stow is a game-changer. I've always trusted Minn Kota, and this motor lives up to their reputation... almost. Unfortunately, my experience was soured right out of the box. The clip was broken, forcing me to order a replacement immediately. This was a major inconvenience and a disappointment, especially considering Minn Kota's usual reliability. It’s a great trolling motor with phenomenal speed control, but the transom bracket seems to be fairly cheap and does not clamp securely in my experience. I’ll be trying a rubber pad under it on my next outing to see if that helps

I've used Minn Kota forever and always. I've used this trolling motor 6 times. 6. the handle to select speeds slips and spins around when you use the feature of extending the handle. (which was a huge reason i got it.) the handle tilts up, I'm tall, and always stand in the boat when fishing. also their so called great invention of quick release on the shaft has also already messed up. Been used 6 times. Also cant get ahold of anyone, and Amazon didn't want to do anything about it. Worse purchase ive ever made. ... show more
