  • Quiet, Compact, and Powerful — Handles 4 Monitors with Ease
Size: UM890 Pro-Barebone
This barebones mini-PC delivered exactly what I needed for a quiet, compact, high-performance build. I added DDR5 memory and two NVMe drives (1TB + 4TB), and the dual internal M.2 slots made setup clean and easy. I'm currently running 4 monitors (via HDMI, USB-C, and DisplayPort), and everything works flawlessly. The two USB4 ports are especially handy — one for display output and the other connected to an external SSD. Speeds are excellent, and all USB ports support high-speed transfers. Fan noise is impressively low — much quieter than my old tower PC — and system responsiveness is snappy even under load. Setup tip: After Windows install, be sure to update all drivers using the manufacturer’s support page and AMD's driver tools. This ensures proper GPU, USB, and SSD performance. Very happy with this system — small footprint, big performance, great flexibility. ... show more

  • Stay away unless you are very geeky and patient.
Size: UM890 Pro-Barebone
Unless you're a super geek and need this specific hardware, I recommend staying away. I spent many hours researching and decided to go for it despite being an avid thinkcentre fan for many years. Anyway, the documentation is nil. Without Windows installed and no drivers you are in for a lot of fun. Because their website is barely functional, it's nigh impossible to get any info or help. Pages are 404, links don't work, UM890 is not even listed as a product, and when you do find a driver download, you get a 1gb bundle of options with no docs describing what to do. I relied on Reddit posts and chatGPT to finally get the machine going. A few days after purchase, the fan started making a lot of racket. Very loud. It would come and go. I contacted support and after a few days of back and forth (waiting for responses), they told me to record and video and send. I did, and never heard back. I pinged them 3 times and no response. They disappeared, but according to Reddit posts this is a common issue and minisforums makes their own fans. I have one coming from Amazon now and hope to fix that issue. So with a bad website, terrible docs, and no support, you're better off with a competitor; after all, most of these PCs are within a 100 bucks of each other, so go for quality and support where such is proven. ... show more

  • Game Changer
Size: UM890 Pro-Barebone
This products kills the competition. It kills it in many ways. One way it kills it is it relies on vendor software (AMD, etc) whereas other products 'dress up' there product with adverse software. This item also kills it in terms of cooling, performance, and sound. Low to no sound noise doing general tasks. You will not find any general device driver software for this because the unit is so generic you just need what is supplied by the OS or by the manufactuer. Outstanding. ... show more

  • Great Overall Machine. Need Extra Video Card for heavy duty AI processing. Would Buy
Size: UM890 Pro-Barebone
I have been using the MINISFORUM UM890 Pro for a few weeks now, and it's hands-down one of the most powerful and versatile mini PCs I've ever owned. I currently run Proxmox with VMs for Ubuntu Server (Docker stack), Windows 11 for testing apps, and Kali Linux for security labs. On the gaming side, I’ve comfortably played CS:GO, Forza Horizon 5, and Valorant at medium to high settings thanks to the Radeon 780M iGPU. For content creation, I’ve used DaVinci Resolve for video editing, Blender for light 3D work, and Photoshop via Adobe CC—performance has been consistently snappy and stable. ✅ Pros: Blazing Fast Performance: The Ryzen 9 8945HS with 8 cores/16 threads and up to 5.2GHz handles everything I throw at it—VMs, development, gaming, and content creation. - AI Engine Integration: Built-in AI capabilities offer some future-proofing for those experimenting with machine learning or automation. - Excellent Graphics: The integrated Radeon 780M (RDNA 3) runs light gaming and GPU-accelerated tasks beautifully. - 8K & Multi-Monitor Output: Multiple USB4 and HDMI ports allow me to run 3 monitors easily, with crisp 4K and even 8K output. - OCuLink Support: As a tech enthusiast, I love that it includes OCuLink support—allowing me to attach a full-size external GPU over PCIe 4.0 x4 for max performance. - Ample RAM & Storage: Preinstalled with 64GB DDR5 and a 1TB NVMe SSD, with space for another—ideal for multitasking, virtual machines, or media libraries. - Dual 2.5GbE LAN Ports: Game-changer for homelab use. I run pfSense on this and use the second NIC for VLAN segmentation and firewall rules. Also perfect for setting up a mini router or NAS. - Silent & Sleek: Super quiet even under load, and its compact form factor fits perfectly on my desk or in a rack mount. ⚠️ Cons: - OCuLink Isn’t Hot-Swappable: Make sure to power down before connecting/disconnecting external GPUs—it’s not plug-and-play like Thunderbolt. - No Discrete GPU Included: While the iGPU is solid, serious gamers or AI users will want to hook up a dedicated GPU externally. This is pretty big as I am a software developer and I was hoping I could push the NPU on the chip harder. - Not Recommended for Machine Learning or Heavy AI use. ... show more

  • Best mini gaming pc I’ve tried
Size: UM890 Pro-Barebone
Very nice mini PC. I had no problems with drivers and it plays the latest games. The cooling works well, it’s quiet, and upgrading the memory and ram was super easy. I would recommend it!

  • Great mini PC
Size: UM890 Pro-Barebone
So far this little machine runs Win 11 and all apps or games I have tried with no issues and great performance. It was built with 64GB Crucial DDR5 and 1TB Hynix P41 drive. iRacing runs great using my driving rig with no issues. Initially I was not able to locate the OCulink adapter, but was later found in a small black box under the styrofoam (pictured). Soon I will be adding the DEG1 and a Radeon 7900XTX to max it out and it will be my dedicated TVPC/iRacing machine. ... show more
