nice umbrella doesn't like wind

I bought this umbrella to take cruising with me. i don't handle sunlight directly well, I tend to overheat easily. I needed something small and lightweight to carry around while shopping that could give me shade when resting from the heat in Cruise ports. This little umbrella makes an excellent sunshade, but it HATES the wind. Very light wind inverted the umbrella quickly making it useless in the sun. This may just be a little too light weight for what it is. The wind in port was VERY low. A standard rain shower has more wind, glad I was using for sun and not to stay dry when I tried this the umbrella the first time. If you're going where there is ZERO to no wind, it may be the umbrella for you, I just don't consider it sturdy enough to help much of anything. ... show more

Can’t handle wind

Small and hard to open & close

I ordered four of these, one for myself, and three to give us gifts. I was really excited about the little case they come in, but found when I opened them that there’s a big sticker on the outside of each case with the barcode on it and, since it’s stuck to the FABRIC on the case, the sticker won’t come off without tearing into pieces. I started on my own case and pieces of the sticker came off. Now that area is sticky and I can’t get the rest of the sticker off. It’s not budging. Also, once I opened the umbrella and then retracted it and wrapped it back up with its snap enclosure, no matter how hard I try I can’t get it small enough to fit in that case again. I thought the case could be cool to use for other items, possibly sunglasses since the umbrella won’t really go back in, but it looks so bad on the outside with that sticker that I wouldn’t carry it. I think I will take the other umbrellas out of their case before presenting them as gifts. It would’ve been great if the sticker was on an outer plastic sleeve of some sort to avoid damaging the case itself. ... show more

Nice case to hold. Perfect for light rain and easy to open and close. Light and doesn’t take up a lot of room. It is not a big umbrella but good for one person. Not the sturdiest but great Buy.

It is sturdy, it's just a bit hard to open. I thought it was automatic opening but u do need to manually push the upper part until it opens and clicks

Good sun block

I recently use it by desert area, Death Valley NP, and Alabama Hill, CA. The area was over 100F degree, no tree, really burning. To my surprised it block the direct sun heat pretty good. At first I thought the interior black color would absorb heat, but hey, I didn’t get sun burn. Hat can’t protect my hands and neck well, also hat make my head sweat too much. I am buying another one for back up. However, the stick was not very strong. When strong wind blow, you need to hold it with two hands. Or else, the stick will break.
