I had pictures I needed 6x6 frames for and could not find anything suitable in the local stores. This pack of 3 was reasonably priced and good quality. They are wide enough to stand on the edge for shelves or you can hang them up.

I love the frames: glossy black, very well-made frames, with nice clean white mats, and glass instead of plastic. I have 11 of them hanging in our breakfast room. BUT after about 5 (?) months, one of the plastic hooks broke and the picture fell to the floor, breaking one of the frame corners and marring the new paint job (and the damp Magic Eraser will not remove the black marks - will have to paint over them, the pix I took of the black marks on the walls were much darker than camera shows them). Three days ago, 2 more of them fell, marring more wall paint, and breaking the corners of the frame. I spent hours the next day removing all of the plastic hooks from the wall (have to dig into drywall to pry them out) and replacing them with the old brass hooks with-nail "system." Great frames but DO NOT USE THE SUPPLIED PLASTIC HOOKS. The white plastic hooks/hangers themselves stay perfectly in the drywall, but the hook part is what breaks off. See photo with 1 unbroken hook and the 2 broken ones. I would have given them 5 stars except for the hooks. I weighed the frames w/ the alcohol ink paintings and each weighs 2.7 pounds. The first frame which fell off the wall went to the trash and I never took any pix nor wrote a review as I thought it was a one-off. I have put one of the two recently broken frames on the wall until it can be replaced but the second one was too out-of-square to be used.

The frames were packaged so well as to prevent any dents/scratches. They are very sturdy & attractive with a thick board on the back which has the BEST, easiest clips for securing the backboard to the frame! Rarely do I find a product that meets or exceeds my expectations in every way but this one does!!

Frames arrived intact. These had black wood frames (happy - expected plastic) They are sized correctly for 12x12 and 8x8 inch (with included mat) photo's or artwork - the actual area visible when mounted is 11.5x11.5 and 7.5x7.5 inch. If your photos are12x12 or 8x8 (common with online photo processors), remember that the 1/4 Inch border of the print that will not show. (I see reviews that complain the frame size is not accurate)โบ PROBLEM: I NEVER TRUST the hooks such as these (see photo) to hang the frame. These are simply pressed into the back panel (not thru) and WILL FAIL over time. (as mentioned in other reviews). Some manufactures use this style with longer tabs that penetrant thru the board and are folded over - those seem to last but the frame is always swinging on a single nail (unless you use some "Museum Putty" to anchor them or - use two nails ~11 apart (use a level...) and hook the top of the frame on them. I gave these a 5 star in spite of the Hook .

Frames came quickly and are such a good deal for the price; however, I got the 8x8 with 5x5 mat specifically because I have photos that are just slightly bigger than 5x5, and figured I could squeeze them in....but alas, the mat opening is actually only 4.5", not 5", so they crop my photo way too much. Disappointing, but I'll use the frames for other photos - just beware!
