I rated the this mini sewing machine 4-star overall because I enjoy the color and I am slowly learning how to use the machine as well as I do like the extras provided (and I don't like giving negative reviews). However, as someone who has not used a sewing machine (mini or full) more than once in my life, this machine is definitely not beginner friendly. Thankfully some youtube videos have come in handy in learning how to use a mini sewing machine. The user manual is lacking information (definitely wish it had photos of what the manual refers to). As the photos show, the outer box came damaged--though that's not too big an issue--but the extension board came damaged as well. I did not wish to return the whole unit I just want a new undamaged extension board (there wasn't a way just to get the extension board). I also wish the sewing machine came with the simple black sewing travel bag like I saw in some product review photos/videos as well as the product description. The damaged extension board, smudged sewing machine, unhelpful user manual and lack of the sewing travel bag were a bit disappointing. As far as the mini sewing machine, I enjoy the color. It came with some black smudges but hopefully I can clean those. It came already threaded. I had to look up a few videos online on how to use. Again, this is coming from someone who is clueless to using a sewing machine (usually just hand stitched small projects). The small user manual it came with wasn't clear for me. Overall the mini sewing machine will hopefully accomplish the small tasks I wanted it for. I wasn't in the market for all the bells and whistles of a huge machine or more established brand. Just wanted something to make sewing the small items I do sew, hopefully much easier. I did get to use this machine twice, but only because I kept rethreading. I tried a better quality thread that did not come with the machine and still had problems. I also did not like that the tension was not really adjustable, you could not pull on the thread to get extra length prior to sewing. It required pulling the tension open just to pull on the thread. Not able to use with the constant thread tears! I returned this item for a refund. ... show more

    • No foot petal and broken needle.

I was excited about this! BUT mine came with no foot petal attachment and the needle was broken. I’m trying to fix it and see if I can get it working but after replacing the needle the machine won’t stay on. It sews for one second and then turns off.

I wanted to like this sewing machine, but it's just way too tedious to set up and has issues when running. The manual is the size of an index card - the picture showing the parts can't be made out at all and while the text is readable, it's full of grammatical errors and isn't as clear as it could be. Makes setup/use confusing, especially since there's only a single video tutorial for this. The other issues I had were that the lower bobbin will only sometimes catch, and the top thread also keeps coming loose as the tension discs don't seem to do anything. Also jams up A LOT. I had to cut everything out twice for a hat because it just kept jamming, even with everything set up properly. For the power, the switch worked okay, but the pedal just plain wouldn't work sometimes. I could get a few stitches going, but then it'd just stop and the light would dim. For the couple stitches I managed, they're kinda ugly and full of tangles. It's nice that it comes with extra parts and it's affordable, but overall it's not worth the hassle and I ended up returning it. Will probably just throw an extra $100 on top of that and get a real sewing machine. ... show more

I bought this so I could sew a few patches on my granddaughters very thin Girl Scout vest. I went ahead and bought this one because it advertised that I could go through six layers with jeans. Well it's a tiny thin patch and it's not anywhere layers of jeans, however it absolutely didn't even stitch through it one time without stopping The entire process it is a POS and I highly recommend not wasting your money ! ... show more
