I finally decided to give one of these n100 devices a try. Have been using Raspberry Pis exclusively for various things, and this is a more cost effective option. The device overall costs less than an equivelent rpi solution, and it has more CPU/Memory/Disk. This device is ok as a personal desktop option, I wouldn't want to use this as my primary rig, but it's fine for basic usage. However it is fantastic as a dedicated media / retro gaming solution, I'm very happy with the outcome. Performance exceeds expectations, now just hoping it will last.

It was surprisingly powerful for day to day workloads. Web browsing and office applications were no problem. I would just leave it on because it draws so little power - it was nice to have instant availability. But... 31 days? Come on - if it had crapped out one day sooner I could have returned it to Amazon at least. It should go without saying that support and/or warranty on this device are non-existent, and it is not designed to be user serviceable. The SSD appears to have taken a total crap and in trying to reload an OS now I can't even get into the BIOS.

The Firebat AM02 is a great little N100 PC, and punches above its weight in the budget category. At the moment it’s 20% off at $150, and a pretty great deal for what you get. It has a couple of stand out features typically seen only on higher priced products: - USB-C with PD support, so you can run data, display, power all from a single port. I’ve got it hooked up to a TB4 hub for initial setup. - Dual Ethernet, with one of them being 2.5 gigabit - Lots of BIOS options to tweak performance and power consumption In my testing, it scored above average in Passmark benchmarks for the CPU, so whatever Firebat did in their implementation, it’s working very well. There has been some concern about malware in these Chinese mini PCs, but I haven’t found anything after a full offline scan with Microsoft Defender. Brilliant little unit, and would recommend if you need a cheap and cheerful machine to self-host at home, or as a secondary PC.

I had been watching a lot of YouTube videos on the N100 CPU prior to this purchase and this mini-PC is a perfect compliment to Promox.

To start off, I bought this computer to replace my power hungry home server. I will first list the good: -It can be powered from the USB-C port on the front (super rare, nice feature to have!) -large heatsink and quiet fan means you can't hear it at al -2.5gb ethernet, good for nas use or as a pfsense router -intel wifi 6, fast and reliable. -nvme slot, I am using it with the stock sata ssd, but you can upgrade to nvme. -sata drive bay Now, lets go over what can be improved. -The ssd and ram are from an unknown company, so time will tell how good they are. -The bios is pretty basic Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I running photo prism right now, on docker. It is being powered from USB-C and it is working great so far. I will update in the future.

Good Mini PC, has an M.2 key and an E key slot under systems drive in case you decide to swap out the WiFi card for something else. The systems hard drive is a SATA drive. And has a wifi card under it. It has x2 NICs which is great as I plan on putting pfsense on it. comes with a SATA adapter if you plan on adding a second drive. I ran some stress tests and the systems CPU and memory had no issues.
