For the price you can't go wrong for the average occasional use. It does have some plastic parts on it but that shouldn't hurt anything if you don't throw it around. The rip guide is a little frustrating because it only works on larger pieces of wood (I tried it on 1/2" plywood and the guide plate didn't even touch the side of the wood). I am a 65 year old woman, diy-ing my basement remodel. This is a sharp, agile little saw, easy on my arthritic wrists. The laser line is true and I really use it. Moderately loud, power is decent. I cut 2x4’s with no issues.

I purchased this with the extra warranty. This has become my go-to saw. It is easy to use and handle. Cuts a wide variety of wood including use in the outside yard for cutting my brushes and branches. For my wood projects, most of the wood is <2" so it can easily handle the quick cuts.
