    • It's definitely a real chain saw
I was cautious about this purchase because it seems off-brand and there's no labeling on the saw. However, the metal is durable, the chain is sharp, the grip feels good, the batteries seem to last plenty long (and you get two of them), it's super light and very easy to carry around, and it all works just like you'd expect a chainsaw to. It can definitely handle anything you wouldn't want to have to pull out a full-size chainsaw for. Also note, chainsaws don't really cut so much as they rip and tear. I tried to open a bag of chips with it and pieces of chips and bag went everywhere. Then I tried to cut the tight plastic packaging around an air wick fragrance dispenser. Plastic went everywhere, but my house suddenly smells a lot nicer. So maybe keep in mind its destructive power when deciding what to use it on. Just three things to note: 1. It doesn't need oil, which really helps with maintenance and keeps it clean. However, the drawback to this is that it overheats rather quickly. If you're not sure if you should use this chainsaw or a full-sized chainsaw, use the full-sized chainsaw. This one will cut it, but it might need to take a break. If it shuts off suddenly while you're using it, see if the motor housing is hot. You'll need to let it cool off for a bit. This is a tradeoff, one I'm willing to make but others may not. 2. Because it's smaller, its designed to be used to cut smaller things. The less massive it is, the more likely it will bounce off your chain. Be sure to really anchor whatever it is you're cutting, because this thing can really go, and if you're not careful it can bounce back at you much easier than a full-size chainsaw could. Be sure you always have total control of this thing. 3. No safety features, except for your finger and the battery. Being mindful of holding the chainsaw by the handle only (trigger discipline) has prevented any accidents so far, but if you're an absent-minded individual or have small children, you'll need to take precautions like taking the battery out when not actively using it. ... show more

It didn't last a year, bought it the end of February 2022 to have it at hand. I rarely used it, some four times before last, always to cut small branches less than 3 inches in diameter. And, always cleaned after used. The few times I used before (four times) it was OK until the last time (the fifth time I used it). I was cutting some branches, 2-3 inches in diameter, and suddenly motor started to smoke, turned off and left it for a while. I tried to turned on again and nothing. Guarantee expired so no place to go and request help. So, a waist of money. It seems one needs to used a lot during those three months to be sure it will not go smoking. needed something smaller than a 24 in bow saw and faster than a gardeners hand saw. (yeah, I'm old). this does very well although the chain toothing is a little large so start of a cut is jerky. this is only a determent if dealing with brush . The chain needs tightening more often than I'd like but that's a personal preference. ... show more

I have only used it a couple of times but so far it seems to work great. I used it to trim a couple of branches, And lately used it to trim the bottom of the Christmas tree. So far so good, I only con cern is there is no chain oiler. Time will tell how that will work out. One word of caution, for myself, the saw is pretty compact and I kept wanting to use two hands while using it. The issue is there isn't really any place to put the other hand so I found myself crowding the chain on the bottom of the saw. There isn't any reason to use two hands because the saw cuts easily and is balanced so it's only an old habit I need to break. I would recommend this saw and if the need arises I will buy again. ... show more

I love this thing, I don’t have to pull out the big one for little jobs, The battery lasts for a couple of hours, Now keep in mind that you should cut a few times and let it rest a few minutes so the motor lasts longer. There’s no oil that goes to the chain, I do add a couple of drops to the chain. I had a issue the when I first got this and the company responded fast and didn’t give me a hassle, And resolved the issue. I definitely recommend this and this company! ... show more
