  • A lot of phone for the price
Color: Mineral Gray Size: 128GB
I was looking for a phone or tablet to use with my DJI Mini 2 drone. The remote control with the Mini 2 requires the use of an Android or Apple smart phone or tablet since the remote control doesn't have it's own display and the phone or tablet serve as the display. There are lots of phones you can use for this purpose, but you need something with a very bright display. I have an iPhone 11 Pro as my primary phone and when flying in bright sunlight, the display dims to prevent the phone from overheating. It gets so dim that it is almost unusable for this purpose. I was looking for a new or used phone or tablet with a very bright display. So far, this phone seems to work very well and the display is bright enough to view in direct sunlight. I believe it is capable of 1300 nits under certain circumstances, but that may be while playing HDR content. The Google Pixel phones are great, as are the Samsungs, but the Pixel's screens don't get this bright and Samsung models that do have bright screens are much more expensive. I've used my sim card from my iPhone to make calls (AT&T) and I think the Motorola Edge 2022 actually sounds better than the 11 Pro. I have tested Wi-Fi speeds and the Edge 2022 is consistantly 10% to 15% faster than the 11 Pro. I've seen complaints about the camera quality but the photos, especially macro photos, look as good or better than the 11 Pro. If my entire family didn''t use iPhones, I think I would actually start using the Edge 2022 as my primary phone as it is much easier to see with the larger screen. Considering all of the features you get with this phone, I think the price is probably impossible to beat. I have only had the phone for a week, but I am extremely happy with my purchase which was less than $250.00. Would I prefer a better IP dust and water resistant rating and more premium materials? Of course, but you can't have everything at this price point. Is it a good deal at $500.00? Probably not a great deal, but at $250.00 it is an absolute bargain and a fine phone. I realize that there are a few negative reviews and I'm sure it's possible to get a dud every once in a while, but some of the reviews seem to be issues not with the phone itself, but due to receiving the wrong phone or a problem with the ordering process. I don't doubt that those problems exist, but I would prefer that reviews of a product, focus on the quality of the actual product and not so much with the process. This is just my opinion. I hope this helps someone else who is on the fence about buying this phone. If you can get it for $250.00, it's an absolute steal! Knowing everything I know now, I would purchase another one if needed and would recommend it to family or friends if they needed a good phone with at great display at a great price. ... show more

  • Generally very good
Color: Stardust White Size: 512GB
I've bought Motorolas for a long time now. I've ventured out to Samsung and LG on occasion, but I've always come back. Motorola makes great solid, reliable midrange phones with about as authentic of an Android experience you can get. I was reluctant after the company was acquired by Lenovo, but I can attest they're still good phones. I bought this to replace my Moto X4 not because the Moto X4 was broken or didn't work, but because I wanted to take advantage of wireless android auto in my Jeep and the newest OS for the X4 was incompatible. I had gotten my money's worth out of that phone already anyways. One of my favorite changes is that the fingerprint reader is built into the power button.. this is MILES better than any in-screen fingerprint reader I've used. It's almost instantaneous. Press the power button like normal and it likely already processed your fingerprint and unlocked the phone. Battery life, as with all of my Motorolas, seems to be a step above the other brands. Other than a Pixel, Motorola offers as close to an authentic Android experience as you'll find. They're not trying to force you into some stupid ecosystem you don't want. Bloatware is minimal. Again, this is why I keep coming back to Motorola. Screen quality is very good. I used to think anything greater than 1080p on a little phone is overkill, but I admit the text does look noticeably more crisp. I have two disappointments, which are fairly minor: 1) The phone has stereo speakers built-in, but as others have noted, the second speaker is just the earpiece, and therefore it's much quieter than the main speaker, giving it a lopsided soundstage. I guess it's better than nothing, but not by much. Speaker quality is still decent, but nowhere near iPhone quality. I've yet to hear an Android that competes, though. 2) Camera software seems laggy/low FPS. I'm guessing it has to do with the multiple cameras and the phone processing them together to create one image, but it feels like the camera "viewfinder" runs at <30fps. The images that come out are still good. Again, not iPhone quality, but perfectly good for a midrange-priced Android phone. I was just disappointed compared to my Moto X4 because that thing was always smooth as butter and image quality was 90% of what this fancy three-camera setup achieves. I still think these multi-camera setups are a bit of a gimmick. Or maybe Android/Motorola just aren't utilizing them optimally. All of my other complaints are with Android itself, so they'd be present on any brand. Having owned both iPhones and Androids, I like Android for their flexibility, but with each new version of Android I feel drawn back to the 'everything just works like it should' quality that iOS has. Apple feels like it was designed by a small group of people who understood the mission well; Android sometimes feels like it was designed by a thousand of different people who never talked to each other. As these mobile OSs get more complex and feature packed, I'm starting to think I'd rather have stability than flexibility/customisation. For my next phone, I may go back to iPhone... Again, though, this is not specific to this phone--just Android itself. So I guess this rant wasn't really necessary.. Good phone if you're looking for an Android! Not the best-of-the-best, but a great balance of capability and price. Probably the sweet-spot of the market. ... show more

  • Solid unused phone. Battery degraded to 85%
The phone arrived new-in-box with a charger. 8GB of RAM (not 6). Everything appears to be working. The battery was completely deep discharged. I ran AccuBattery on it, and found that it's still at around 85% of original capacity. So instead of 4800 mAh, expect to get around 4200. It's an old flagship phone at a low-end price, so it's not a bad compromise. ... show more

  • A great Mid-range Phone for work, or personal use
Color: Eclipse Black Size: 256GB
The Motorola Edge 2023 model is a high quality, well manufactured unit. The device overall, boasts high speed operation, a large storage drive built into the device, and multiple cameras. Though certain features of the camera are lacking, it still takes beautiful pictures. Some issues I noticed appear more so in the Macro range of focus. Older phones, that have cost less, could provide a more close, and clear image. However, this does not make or break Macro style imagery, but something to be wary about. There are many after market phone clips that would allow you to adjust this feature and provide a clearer macro style image however. The sound quality of the speakers on the phone definitely ramp up the fun you can have with this phone. Additional features that are a bonus, would be the water-proofing, allowing the unit to be submerged for an extended time, though I wouldn't recommend doing this. Electronics and water NEVER mix, however the chance that your phone will be rendered a paper-weight after falling into the sink, is drastically reduced. The sleek screen design looks aesthetically pleasing, and provides a quality display. My only complaint in regards to the phone is that as you enter within the last 20mm's of screen edging, your presses appear to be slightly off, or occasionally the edges pick up the palm of the hand when being held, and this prevents button presses on the screen. The selfie camera is fairly good quality, and hides behind the screen. When running at peak performance, the phone does tend to run a bit warmer, especially if on charge while in use. With a fantastic battery life, this phone will last easily even with heavy use for an extended period of time. I almost never have the need to charge my phone more than once a day. This phone has already lasted over a year for me, and the strength of the screen is impressive, I have some minor scratches from waist height drops (roughly 3 feet from the floor) to a solid wooden floor. The phone provides a crystal clear screen with a quality refresh rate on the screen, allowing for beautiful fluid screen movement. Having used multiple phones of varying Manufacturers, I would say that Motorola definitely stands out as a strong competitor for the mobile phone market. ... show more

  • Best one yet
Color: Eclipse Black Size: 256GB
I've been using Motorola for the past couple phones and this one was a perfect balance stat-wise and price-wise. With that being said, I am super happy with this phone. It is very fast, gets unbelievable signal and the 5g+ is faster than my home wifi. The battery last about a day (+/-) with pretty solid use and it charges so fast with the 68w charger that even if it doesn't last as long as a 5000mah battery it doesn't matter much because I can go from 30% -85% in about 15 mins!! There are many other features that I love but I want to keep this pretty short. Chipset is very good and packed with features. Being waterproof is a nice plus. The screen is amazing anf the size is perfect for me. I just love it and I can normally always find something I don't like about a phone but so far I haven't with the Motorola Edge 2023! One thing to note is that it is dual sim but one has to be an e-sim and the other physical because it will only hold one physical sim. This phone at $350 is an absolute steal.....get it! ... show more

  • Had to return phone, ridiculous amount of time to wait for refund
Color: Eclipse Black Size: 256GB
I had to return the phone because the screen was not functioning properly. It was making a static electricity sound when you touched the screen. Also, it was not registering touches correctly. The phone has a couple of small nicks in the screen protector. I tried to return the phone, but for some reason, they would not pick it up. So I had to drive to an Amazon return center to send it back. They returned the phone on the 5th of November. It's said it would refund on 27 of November. That was 22 days. Then, on the 27 it changed and said not till December 19th! There is no reason it should have taken 22 days in the first place. But now it's going to take longer than 43 days! That's nuts! A month and a half to get a refund! Especially since they changed the refund date on the day I was originally supposed to get it! But what can you do? I wonder if I will ever get it now! I would not purchase from them again. Anybody who takes a month and a half to refund your money. Is not a company you should do business with. Update: They have now changed all the dates again. They are now saying they did not receive it until the 19th of November, and the refund will not be given until December 20th! New update. It's the 19th they changed the dates again! Tell end of December! Update now they removed all the dates! Now they are saying they never received the phone! I have contacted customer service 5 times! Which is outsourced overseas! You can't understand a dam thing they say! They were rude and hung up on me! Now I suppose to go back and research all the tracking numbers order number and a bunch of other crap to send! Which they already have this information! But they will not even look into it without me doing their work for them! I now realize they just ripped me off my money. Absolutely Nutz!n I have never seen a worse return policy in my life. Most places will refund you within 7 days of receiving the item! For some reason, it takes these guys 2 months! Plus, they keep changing their dates. That is Shady! Pretty simple for these guys to rip you off! Their is nobody to help you and nothing you can do about it ... show more

  • What an experience
Color: Eclipse Black Size: 256GB
I decided to give Motorola a try and bought this phone, something way different then my normal galaxy S23. These galaxy's are expensive, $800 for my last one, and by the time I pay it off, 3 years, it's shot. I take care of my stuff, the galaxy being no different. Once paid off, it seems they start over heating, not holding a charge for more then a day if your lucky, eat. ( you get the picture, I'm tired of wasting my money ) I received the Moto Edge 23 new, and unpacked and charged it. Once that was taken care of, I attached both phones together and did the smart switch, which went great ! Next up was navigating the apps, and settings, getting it ready for my personal taste and style. Easy enough. From there on out, things went wonky. My calls were echoing on the receivers side, my side , I couldn't figure out how to increase the volume when on speaker phone. Taking pictures really had me going, I'm not a big picture taker, so all those settings, different camera lenses, had me so frustrated, just trying to snap a quick picture of my fur baby. The pictures weren't coming out, and when I tried to send the picture to an sd card, lol, there isn't a place for 1, so I had to order space for the "cloud" which is another $5 a month. I went to use googles app , where you take a picture, and google finds the item for you, I was looking for the name of a plant, and I couldn't figure out which camera lense to use, the app wouldn't take a picture of the plant, to find the name. 2 hours later, still hadn't figured it out, so gave up. The bottom line was everytime I tried to do something with this phone, it ended up being hours of research and trying to figure out how to do every day normal, simple stuff on it ! I even had my lap top out with u-tube videos showing me how to use this phone and it still was rough going. After 4 days of being totally frustrated and getting no where, I sent it back. I'm not completely illiterate when it comes to this stuff, but darn, this phone had me ready to smash it, but at $600 I couldn't do that obviously! Lol ! I don't know if I had a bad phone, it was listed as new, not reconditioned, but the upgrades etc that were different then the galaxys, had me going right back to the galaxy S24, and I'm praying after it's paid off I can still get some more years of use from it. But history with the galaxy has me doubting it. I'm giving the Moto Edge 3 stars for the beauty of it, the screen colors are vivid, if I could have been able to take and print a picture, it would have looked awesome. Other then those few things, I can't think of any more pros, and as for cons, here again, to me it was a very confusing phone to use once you have it set up ! Good luck on this pick, if you choose it ! ... show more

  • Definitely one of a kind (download Gcam immediately)
Color: Stardust White Size: 512GB
This review comes from the perspective of a person who has never owned a Samsung or Apple device. If you're reading this and it's not on sale, and you don't mind the big guys... Keep it moving. This phone isn't worth the asking price on build quality alone. But if you see this anywhere under 8 hundos, and you're ready to buy the optional 68 watt charger (moto made, and verified compatible) then read on my friend, and let tell you about this hidden gem. Build quality: Looks good, but can feel a bit cheap with the plastic frame. Buy a case and forget about it ( I got a Poetic case). The volume buttons are above the power button, you get used to it but still not the best configuration. The phone does heat up while gaming, charging the battery, and taking pictures. HOWEVER, after having done a throttle test, I can tell you that the heat management is very good, and the performance loss never dipped under 80% over half an hour, nor did temperatures pass 50c. Hardware: Screen is accurate but not bright, with slightly cooler tones out of the box. There are limited adjustment options available in settings. Direct sunlight visibility is just OK, definitely functional. The auto frame rate adjust is great and saves battery... But that 144 frame rate is buttery smooth. Signal : I'm on At&t, and initially assumed that I would be stuck on 4g. First I installed the sim, then At&t sent an update a day later and after resetting the phone 5G was available!!! No dropped or missed calls at all. Speakers are loud but a bit tinny until adjusted. Dolby equaliser should be set to film (surround sound) and pick the treble boost Sub option. Bass boost sub options are available as well. If you leave Dolby on automatic, they focus more on voices than music, so it's great for non music target. Battery life is pretty good on a heavy day, excellent for everyday use. Easily getting over 6 - 7 SoT, even with heavy use ( ex. hours of YouTube playback, Genshin Impact, taking pictures, and making calls) I haven't dipped anywhere near the 5's. The optional 68 watt charger has me topped off in a little less than an hour. Buy it, it makes the phone into a certified beast. This phone can also charge other devices when they are connected via USB c cable. Camera : physically very cool design, motorala's photo app is not so cool. Strange colour science they chose to roll with for photos. It is the phone's greatest weakness. Xda forums has a working version of Gcam alongside the. Xml config file. It changes everything! All of a sudden, you're in the big boy camera game too. And you can even change Gcam to the default camera for your moto gestures! gcam-for-edge-x30-edge-30-pro-edge-plus-2022-working-night-mode-face-retouch-config-file.4391919/#post-86297887..... This is a clue how you get there. Research how to use the xml file and where to put it. Good luck. Software : Its stock android with moto mods mixed in. The unlocked version doesn't come with a lot of useless apps. If you're obsessed with security updates then you won't like it. You can use whichever launcher you want, but I think stock does a pretty good job. The software excitement comes with Ready For (aka Motorola Dex) Trust me guys n gals, it's legitimate and not a gimmick. I've played emulators on big screens, checked my emails with portable monitors, and basically made my laptop obsolete. It's that dang good. Plus it can recognise the display output of the device it's connected to and adjust. Get yourself a Bluetooth keyboard, a Usbc to hdmi cable, and a Bluetooth video game remote. The all in one experience is finally here, there, and anywhere a compatible device can be connected or cast to. Pro tips: Apt-X is a Bluetooth audio codec, and it makes compatible headphones sound truly amazing. I've found that Apt-X Adaptable can be a bit laggy on this phone, and honestly didn't change much more than normal Apt-X. Trust me, if you don't know anything about Bluetooth codecs and wonder if it's worth the hassle, just try it once for comparison and thank me later. The Motorola Edge+2022 has less available resources under this name as compared to Motorola Edge 30 pro. They're the same phone and can share the same resources. This will double the amount of advice and information you can find. Even though it looks like the sim tray can accept two cards... It can't. I tried. Developer mode . Change the animation speed to x.5, change the default Bluetooth codec, change the World. Don't play around too much or you'll brick your phone. Every time you connect a new device you'll have to check the Bluetooth codec option to change it. The phone should do it automatically after the first time. If you've made it this far.. Thank you for taking the time. If you do decide to buy this phone, I'd like to welcome you to a very small and exclusive group of people. We found our diamond in the rough, and with any luck it's going to carry us (with 2 major updates and 3 years of security support) into a whole new world of productivity and awesome. Hello 👋 Moto...
