I spend a fair amount of time on conference calls in my home office, which has a window seat. This pillow allows me to recline comfortably, looking out the window and giving my eyes some much needed time away from screens. It fits perfectly in the 19-inch wide space. By itself it's a bit squishy, but since it has a wall as a backstop it's just right. An added benefit is I can lay it face down on the floor, arms pointed behind me, and rest at a shallower angle for watching TV, taking a power nap, etc. The cover material is soft and velvety and there's no lingering odor. Don't believe reviewers saying that "Walmart" ones are better than this. Walmart backrests are flimsy, way too soft like they're filled with cotton balls, and have very little support. Glorified decorative pillows. This backrest is the complete opposite of anything you'd find at Walmart and Target. Extremely firm, dense and supportive. It does have a short back so if you're tall, I'd get the larger/taller size. I bought it for a woman who is 5'0 and it's the perfect height so that she can even rest her head. Bought this in 2021 and it is still firm as ever and has retained its original shape really well. The original cover has some wear spots from use, but the cover isn't thick to begin with. Well worth the $26.99. Removed 1 star because the arms are pretty short even for a petite woman. ... show more

I took the time to read reviews, so when my pillow arrived I unwrapped it, and removed the outer cover, then placed it in my closet for two days to airate and puff up to full-size undisturbed. Then I replaced the cover and set it on my bed. For me, the stuffing is perfect, no need to add any extra and I haven't removed any. I like the option of being able to do both. There was no extra padding included in my package which I was grateful for because I wouldn't have needed it or had a place to store it. The instructions said I could have placed the pillow into my dryer on fluff for 10 minutes to reconstitute it. (if I had wanted to ) also a recommendation from the manufacturer if it needs re-fluffing after use. This pillow is soft to the touch, and feels soft against my back while also being firm and supportive. I place it against the wall at the head of my bed and lean against it comfortably. I have also used it on my couch as additional back support and it works great there also. I am under 5' tall so sitting on most couches is uncomfortable unless I sit Indian style or with my feet tucked in under me. This pillow allows me to sit comfortably with my feet flat on the floor or proped up on the ottoman without having to slouch to do so. I like that I can take the stuffing out of the inner cover and soak (hand wash... not machine wash) the inner cover if it gets soiled, and then restuff it when dry. The removable outter cover is machine washable which is nice. I am guessing the stuffing could be machine washed/dried on gental cycle seperaterly after being placed in a mesh bag. I will probably give it a try at some point due to todlers and cats living in my home not to mention my own clumbsiness. I have had other backrest pillows (TV pillows) before they were supportive and firm, but hard and heavy, and machine washing was not recommended. Although I did machine wash them when they became soiled (had to or throw out). They always threw my machine out of balance and took forever to dry. I’ve bought 2 of these. The first one was perfectly plump and sturdy. I was so happy and impressed that I bought the 2nd one for my spouse just a few weeks later. However, that one was noticeably smaller and lighter. I allowed the same time for it to plump up as the 1st but it’s too soft, no support, the arms aren’t filled out and it appears shorter. I weighed both of them. The 1st one weighs 5.4 lbs and the 2nd one weighs 3.8 lbs. I truly love the 1st one and would give it 5 stars but the other one I’d give 2 stars so I settled on 3 stars overall. I’m not happy that same product isn’t the ‘same’. Should have returned it but didn’t want the hassle of stuffing it in a box. ... show more

I will start off by saying it comes vacuumed-sealed. It does take a little while for it to fully expand and form to the correct shape. Once it does, it is super soft and provides excellent support. Definitely getting one for a few of my family.

I had a shoulder replacement surgery a few weeks ago and this has helped so much since you are supposed to sleep sitting up or in a recliner. I don’t have a recliner.
