Description

An easy-to-use pen containing actual wood stain (not ink) designed to correct scratches, blemishes and imperfections on dark brown or near-black wood. The stain from the pen soaks into wood and mimics the surrounding color, making it extremely easy to match a wide array of black/brown wood shades. It will also never run or smear, making it easy to wax, clean or polish over it just like the rest of the floor or surface. The special filter also makes highly economical use of the stain, as each pen contains upwards of 1,000 coats of stain. From the Manufacturer The specially designed filter applies the stain in an easy and controlled manner, making it virtually impossible to use too much. And because it dries instantly, it’s easy to tell if more coats are needed.

  • I was not happy. This pen saved the day
Color: Black Brown Wood
Recently I spilled nail polish remover on my black wood coffee table. Most of the table was not damaged but part of the top and a bit of the bottom shelf were damaged -- I had a black table with tan spots on top and a big white blot on the bottom shelf. I was not happy. This pen saved the day. The color is not a perfect match but the difference is not that noticeable unless you know where the stain was or rub your hand over the spot -- since there's no shine with this pen it just looks like you need to dust. I hope that when I next polish the table the polish will make the dullness blend in better. One relatively inexpensive pen saved the day. I started out being very careful how I used the pen -- trying to stay neatly in the gouges and stained parts. After a while I was less careful though I always wiped the excess product away as the instructions indicated. I don't think you have to be overly careful but stop periodically and look at the spot from different angles and in different lighting conditions. This is the easiest home repair I ever did. Next up - fixing the scratches my cat put on my headboard. ... show more

  • Perfect
Color: Black Brown Wood
I moved into an apartment that had dark wood cabinets. Not my fave but the apartment is pretty good otherwise. The dark (cheap) wood showed light colored scuffs and dings all over and made the place look low class. This stuff works magic! At first I thought it would show as it was shinier than the cabinet finish but as it dried it blended perfectly! I will also use it on move out so I won't be charged for damages. Love it!! ... show more

  • Pros and cons
Color: Black Brown Wood
These wood markers are great for filling in scratches and dings on furniture and for my floors in my home. The color match is near perfect and when used on similar wood color. There is a definite technique that I have discovered in application. I will use pen to fill in the scratch and then gently wipe with a paper towel. This wipes away the color on the original surface if any marker got on it so that it does not actually look like marker on the original color all while the color on the wood scratch stays in place. ... show more

  • Worked very well
Color: Black Brown Wood
Used the brown black on the wooden arms of a chair and two outdoor porch chairs where the finish was worn off. Very pleased.

  • for me, better luck with plain old calligraphy markers--especially on Ikea type furniture
Color: Black Brown Wood
This whole category seems like a problem. I believe reviews for this brand were stronger than others. I just used the product, and it was OK. But if you're looking to cover scratches, etc. on Ikea-type furniture, you might try a Zig Calligraphy marker. For me, it worked MUCH better: covered better, was easy to blend with a paper towel rub, and the tips (one broad, the other end fine) let me get the ink down both faster and more precisely. The color seemed just plain black in both cases. I'm willing to assume that the specialized "wood scratch fix pen" products, like this Miller one, are best for actual wood and actual wood-lookfinishes. But, even in that situation I'm going to try Zig or similar markers in relevant colors. ... show more

  • Miller wood stain fix pen ROCKS!
Color: Red Brown Wood
This one actually works, really works, no joke! Definitely bought other brands. Total waste, time and money. Saw this, thought what's one more. OMG (gosh) I'm done! If I ever need other shades, this is my go to choice. I had a bedroom suite refinished in cheerywood. While hanging mirror, the support gave way and finish ended up with long, shallow scratches. Called the refinisher, told him what I had done and would he come and repair the damage. I still haven't seen him. So, I wanted to just minimize the damage till he could come. That's why I purchased other brands, the most known. I had never heard of this brand before, but I won't forget it now. You can't tell it's repaired! I'm thrilled. The color is red brown and could not have been a better match. Depth of color is achieved by repeat applications. Apply, wipe and buff until you're there. Then, soft clean cloth to buff in shine. It's perfect! ... show more
