I recently acquired an uncurred handmade cutting board from a friend. After a little research, it came to my attention that it really should be sealed to prevent rot and contamination from food stuffs. Further investigation said that I should use a linseed oil. So, I scoured the marketplace for something acceptable. I used this product and BAM! It works wonders. After a few cleanings of my board, I just reapply another coat to keep it sealed. It last a good while and makes the surface easy to clean. It helps resist maring and cut marks. And has no strong scent when applied. I just apply at the end of the evening and it's ready to go the next day. It's easy to use perfect for the application. Thank you. I will be purchasing more once this finally runs out. ... show more

I had been using tung oil, which dries pretty tough, but darkens any existing finish. This goes on very transparent and looks great. But it never seems to dry and eventually rubs off. Applied to raw wood it works slightly better. But it still wears off after a few weeks. Not durable. Probably it is good for mixing oil paints, but not as a protective finish. ... show more
