  • Nice machine.
Made some fun bags, quilt books, and placemats with this machine. It’s easy to use for these small projects and I’m a beginner.

  • Very impressive
As a single guy, and mom is no longer with us to mend things for me, this can be very handy in my situation. I also have a super low income only from disability, and I like to try to make things last as long as possible. I'm a big time DIYer too so why not get this and repair some of my couch cushions that the dog chewed up, and fix my comforter that's losing stuffing lol. It comes with a decent amount of accessories, though I probably won't ever need to make a button hole or attach a zipper to anything, it's nice to have the means to do it just in case. It's really light weight, but feels pretty solid as well, and it's very quiet! I remember my mom's sewing machine was pretty loud in comparison. It was easy to set up after studying the instructions, and I was super impressed with some of the features that I didn't even know a sewing machine could have, like the needle threader!! That's awesome, I have bad vision so that would have been a pain. The variety of stitches is just amazing, and it had a test piece included which shows that they care about quality control and making sure functioning products go out the door. It was set up perfectly and my first run had perfectly tensioned stitches. I think I'll have some fun with this, and I know it will come in handy. The dust cover is cheap looking but that's a fantastic idea and something simple and useful to make for a bunch of things I have that I'd like to keep protected from dust. It's not a brand that I have heard of before, but I'm pretty pleased with it, thanks so much for offering it. ... show more

  • A little pricey
The media could not be loaded. I compared this to the Brother SQ9285 which retails at a similar price. A good basic sewing machine that comes with automatic buttonholes and a few decorative stitches. An assortment of feet, bobbins and tools are also included, a cover and an instruction manual. It uses standard class 15 bobbins and standard click-on low shank feet. Unfortunately the only needles provided with the machine were 90/14 size which are better suited for heavier fabric, so I changed the needle out for a 75/11 which is the size I normally use for cottons. My first impressions were that the machine was fairly easy to set up, but just ‘felt’ of lesser quality than the Brother. There were some design features that were a little tricky, such as the bobbin cover was trickier to replace than on the Brother and the needle threader was stiffer to operate and wouldn’t go through the needle without a little push from behind. The cable to the foot pedal was thinner and the foot pedal itself was smaller. The digital display does not light up. This machine does NOT come with a removeable flat bed for quilting or larger pieces of fabric, which the Brother comes with as standard. The machine I felt was slightly noisier than my Brother, but it was very intuitive to change stitches and the length and width of stitches. It sewed pretty well and the decorative stitches came out nicely. Tension was easily adjusted if needed. This machine runs quite slowly, and the speed cannot be adjusted, however this could be beneficial for a beginner sewist or if, like me, you tend to sew too quickly to the detriment of accuracy. All in all, I felt that this would be an excellent ‘starter’ machine for a teen or young adult IF the price was reduced. I absolutely felt that it was overpriced if you compared it to the Brother SQ9285 which has a lot more features and stitches for the same price. The machine itself works well for a basic sewing machine, but is just priced over what it was selling for when this review was made, which was around $199. This machine is handy for me to have a second machine for costume making, where I don’t want to risk damaging my main machine on heavy or tricky fabrics, and for my grand daughter to use when she is visiting. Works very well, but overpriced. ... show more

  • I adore this machine
For a cost effective option, this one will work! Very comparable to name brand machines in function and form. NOTE: Make sure the bobbin winder peg is pushed to the left (to disengage) before attempting to try and use the cursor buttons on the settings. I was not able to make them work until I noticed it was engaged. The buttons worked perfectly once I disengaged it. The machine is not too heavy or light, but you get a good feeling of stability with it. I was quite impressed with the lighting… nice and bright. I didn’t have to struggle seeing what I was sewing. It threads quite easily and quickly. I didn’t use the bobbin it supplied, but used one I had from my name brand machine and the clear plastic type SA 15 worked great! This machine only comes with a standard foot on a short shank. Swapping out any other short shank feet is a breeze with the quick release in the back. The sewing foot pedal worked great and was very responsive. The machine was fairly quiet. The reverse stitch button worked perfectly. I’m very happy with this machine and plan to use it for teaching children how to sew; it’s straightforward and uncomplicated. Highly recommended! UPDATE: After reviewing I later discovered the machine also came with additional tools. The front of the sewing base is removable to allow you to sew cuffs easier, and in that piece is 3 extra bobbins, sewing needle, buttonhole and zipper feet, to name a few. ... show more
