  • You can do a lot with this cage
I waited for a while to get this machine...because FedEx screwed up the shipment not just once but twice, and the anguish of watching their farce of a tracking system server to do nothing more than frustrate me more and more by the day for about 3 weeks. The seller was responsive in getting a replacement box shipped upon notification that one of the boxes was being returned to them. Now that I actually have the machine setup i will go over some pros and cons. Cons: *Parts are not packaged very well, particularly for freight handling, the likes of FedEx. It will come in 2 boxes, each weighing well over 100 pounds, and it is likely you might get some scratched parts (and in my case some of the pulley mounts were bent, but I was able to straighten them fairly easily). The parts are individually wrapped in plastic, but given the weight it would be good to have more separation. *I don't like the plate storage idea. It just adds to the overall footprint and is not very convenient. I would much rather see a couple of J-Hooks thrown in for plate storage. I don't think I will be leaving that on. *The Pulleys are not great (but that is par for the course on a lot of consumer gyms) and this contributes to some unnecessary drag on the machine. *While I like the angles and ergonomics of the chin up bar, I would rather have an integrated bar across the top of the cage, which would give it more height and also contribute to the structural rigidity of the cage... *Written instructions are useless. Watch the youtube assembly video to save some headaches. Pros: *There are endless exercise choices on a machine like this, thanks to the functional cable trolleys. *While I would not go so far as to call this machine "rigid" I think it is sturdy enough for a lot of home gyms, and I dont see a problem with it not functioning well as intended. *The dip attachments are awesome. I actually use them for push-ups and tricep dips, and they offer multiple grip options: For push-ups, you can choose close neutral grip handles, wide neutral grip handles, OR grip anywhere along large tube for standard push-up grip. *The pull-up bars have good ergonomics, and are sturdy. I like the hand positions they provide. *Overall assembly was not difficult. If you watch the youtube assembly video, the orientation of the parts will be apparent, and running the cables was easy and straight forward. There were no problems with aligning the holes or difficulty getting the bolts in. *The foot print is actually not that large. The cage itself is 4' wide x 5' deep x 85" tall (to the very top of the pulleys). That makes it more compact than a lot of cages that incorporate a lat pull of some sort. Bottom Line: This machine is a great bang for the buck at the $800 price tag. I am not sure there is any other way I could have spent $800 and gotten this much capability (for the weight range I work within), short of buying something used off a marketplace...BUT, you have acknowledge the packing/shipping is part of the cost savings in this machine. If you have room for it, and you are not a competition level power lifter, you can bring your own barbell, plates and bench, and this machine will provide an endless number of exercises. They are really on to something with this cage and they would do well to heed user feedback, because with minimal modification, they could do a "Rev2" of this machine and really hit it out of the park...maybe offering a version with weight stack instead of plate loaded...just a thought. ... show more

  • The parts shipped separately and came on different dates, but it's amazing now that it's built!
Like I said in the title, I was a little worried when I got 2 boxes and was missing lots of parts. But I contacted the seller and they responded almost immediately and gave me tracking of the last box! Thank you! It was really easy for me to assemble I actually did it completely by myself. I wouldn't recommend doing it by yourself to be honest though, you might damage or bend some of the equipment, I didn't think I would because they were very solid pieces of metal. Anyway the instructional video was amazing, great job there! Overall this is the best decision I made hands down. The cables run so smooth, everything feels sturdy, it's excellent!!! I'm so happy I am building my own home gym. Thank you! ... show more

  • Great Machine / Bad Experience to receive and install
Son loves machine. Had to file complaint to get all 3 tracking numbers. All 3 should be listed and tracked from order details. Seller came close to getting instructions right. OVERALL: I had enough washers to place washers on nut and bolt sides. Pictures show washer on nut side only. I didn't get the crossing cables mentioned in another post. Send a pic where they cross and someone will spot the routing issue. STEP 1 & 2 * The left and right base supports have a pulley wheel on the rear that will need to line up on the inner or outer edge *The rear pulley on the left and right base beams line up with hole at the bottom of the middle vertical beam and a pulley wheel on the front vertical beam. *This is the cable route and if either pulley or the hole are on different edges could cause cable to scrape metal on middle beam hole. STEP 3 *I had two big springs and the shock rubber pads. *The two rear vertical guides go right through center of the springs and pads. *The two rear vertical guides hit bottom of rear base support. STEP 4 *Be mindful to have help holding beams still while connecting * After bolts where tightened a couple slips allowed a long swing and I heard metal stretching. Thats the type thing that makes final assembly shaky. *After getting the core box built I gave a slight shake and retightened every screw and a few nudged a bit. I repeated this slight shake deal and retighten throughout remainder of assembly. STEP 5: *I wouldn't install the safety bars, dip handles, nor tighten pulley wheels. Left all my pulley wheels finger tight until I was sure I wouldn't be taking the cable loose again after taking them loose 3 times to figure it out. *The row pedals , weight storage, and other attachments didn't get in the way of cables. STEP 6: *I'm not scanning a QR Code on some RAGEDIASS instructions. *The cable video found by searching 'MIKOLO-Cable assemble 1' and 'MIKOLO-Cable assemble 2' *Video two should be done first so there is upper support for floating wheels. *The video has six inches overhang on the front cable connector. I tried overhang and had short cable issue. *I seemed to have a good cable with a half inch overhang on front connector. STEP 7 *Being able to quickly remove pulleys to route/reroute cables came in handy. ... show more
