Battery arrived with the positive terminal crushed. There was no way I could use it because you could not put the bolt through the terminal hole. Contacted Amazon and they said they would send a replacement asap. They said at my convenience, drop the defective battery off at UPS, which I did. Replacement battery came 5 days after I made contact with Amazon. No damage this time. I installed it no problem. Battery was 80% charged when I received it. Trickle charged it overnight to 100%. Starts my garden tractor with no problem. Battery seems to have a lot of power, which is good since I have a snow plow with lights and and a electric lift, which I might have to use soon. I need another battery for one of my other tractors for spring to mow grass. If this battery works out, and I don’t see any reason It would not, I will purchase another one. ... show more

Battery seems good. Only used it for one day so far. The battery is a little bigger than expected. Another review stated the same. Just a tiny bit too big. Yup, does not fit well in a John Deere Sabre mower. Rephrase, it gets stuck half way going into the battery compartment and it is very, very, VERY different to remove. I needed it so I left it stuck 1/2 down the battery compartment. The problem I see is when it comes time to remove it, I’ll be a struggle. :-( ... show more

I've noticed many others complaining about their Mighty Max batteries arrived with leaks, some with massive leaks, I have a feeling it is due to the manufacturer activating the battery by prefilling with the acid electrolyte solution. Normally AGM batteries from Yuasa intended for powersports/motorcycles come dry because they can be stored for 5 or more years in this manner, and have a separate acid pack that you pour into the battery cells. Those are still AGM. Mine arrived with a lot of leakage at the top, probably spilled out via the vent caps and I noticed some coming out of the potted material at the terminals. It must have tumbled numerous times during the Amazon shipping. The box is marked for proper orientation but when stuffed into an Amazon box, it is going to randomly tumble during shipping. It arrived with just over 12.99 VDC at rest, and I used an Ancel tester to check its capacity. While rated at 320 CCA, it tested at 369 CCA and the Ancel meter said it was at 100%. I used a Battery Tender and a NOCO 10A smart maintainer and both topped off the battery within 5 minutes, so it definitely has a full charge. The U1 size was a perfect fit for the MTD battery that came with my 30" Murray riding mower (the original part number and the superseded MTD part numbers both are discontinued but cross-reference as U1, positive terminal on left). I used the included hardware, but I made some modifications. I added a 1/4" flat washer underneath the screws, and then used a 1/4" internal star locking washer under each nut. This allowed the nut to stay tight on the battery terminal while I tightened down the screw head (10mm drive). The 1/4" washer allows more surface area contact with the terminal and the locking washer obviously keeps the nut tight from the vibration of the lawn mower. The Murray mower had a 1/2" drive screw for the hold down bracket on top of the battery. The last MTD battery was only a 150 CCA unit (10 Ah rated capacity) that lasted over 6 years, mainly because I kept a Battery Tender on it 24/7/365 and was stored outdoors in an unheated garage installed in the mower year-round, and we get down to -20F ambient and up to +100F ambient. So I'm eager to see how long this Mighty Max AGM will last. ... show more

Absolutely do not buy I bought this battery for my lawnmower and the second time I was out on it as soon as I got off the lawnmower caught fire. I do know that it is from the battery because I noticed the battery was very hot. The last time I had used the lawnmower. But was unsure if that was normal and I just hadn’t noticed before. Well, it’s not normal. My lawnmower was demolished. I had to go into debt to buy myself a new riding mower. Do not buy!!! I was told by Amazon to bad over 30 days so I couldn’t even get the money back for the battery itself. AlsoI couldn’t get a response from the battery company. ... show more
