I've noticed many others complaining about their Mighty Max batteries arrived with leaks, some with massive leaks, I have a feeling it is due to the manufacturer activating the battery by prefilling with the acid electrolyte solution. Normally AGM batteries from Yuasa intended for powersports/motorcycles come dry because they can be stored for 5 or more years in this manner, and have a separate acid pack that you pour into the battery cells. Those are still AGM. Mine arrived with a lot of leakage at the top, probably spilled out via the vent caps and I noticed some coming out of the potted material at the terminals. It must have tumbled numerous times during the Amazon shipping. The box is marked for proper orientation but when stuffed into an Amazon box, it is going to randomly tumble during shipping. It arrived with just over 12.99 VDC at rest, and I used an Ancel tester to check its capacity. While rated at 320 CCA, it tested at 369 CCA and the Ancel meter said it was at 100%. I used a Battery Tender and a NOCO 10A smart maintainer and both topped off the battery within 5 minutes, so it definitely has a full charge. The U1 size was a perfect fit for the MTD battery that came with my 30" Murray riding mower (the original part number and the superseded MTD part numbers both are discontinued but cross-reference as U1, positive terminal on left). I used the included hardware, but I made some modifications. I added a 1/4" flat washer underneath the screws, and then used a 1/4" internal star locking washer under each nut. This allowed the nut to stay tight on the battery terminal while I tightened down the screw head (10mm drive). The 1/4" washer allows more surface area contact with the terminal and the locking washer obviously keeps the nut tight from the vibration of the lawn mower. The Murray mower had a 1/2" drive screw for the hold down bracket on top of the battery. The last MTD battery was only a 150 CCA unit (10 Ah rated capacity) that lasted over 6 years, mainly because I kept a Battery Tender on it 24/7/365 and was stored outdoors in an unheated garage installed in the mower year-round, and we get down to -20F ambient and up to +100F ambient. So I'm eager to see how long this Mighty Max AGM will last.

I installed this in a Generac generator. It was rated at 320 CCA (minimum recommended) but the generator reports low battery when cranking (12.1 volts vs. 13.4 no load), so I suspect that the CCA rating is a little optimistic. Other than that, it has been working ok for a couple of months. The true test will be when temperatures drop below freezing. EDIT - 1/1/24 - The battery continues to work OK. The voltage when cranking drops to 11.9 Volts in cold weather, but the generator starts up fine and does not log an error.

Updated 2 months later- no response from the company. - - Original review: Well, I may have learned my lesson about ordering items that can’t be easily returned to a store, especially something heavy and expensive like a battery. I’ve reached out to customer support since the battery only lasted about four months. During that time, I had to jump it several times, and now it’s completely dead and won’t hold a charge. I understand that occasional defects can happen, so I’m hoping for a prompt replacement or refund. I’ll update this review once I see how customer support handles the situation.

The battery itself is fine. I have been buying batteries from this company for a long time. The only issue I had was that the terminals were not on the same side as the factory battery on my Husqvarna YTH 22V46. I had to take the battery box out and pull the wires in to the box from a different spot and they just barely made it to the terminals on the new battery.

This brand has served me well since i first bought a battery for my generator. Their battery lasted 7 years which is pretty good. Decided to get their brand for my fathers ride-on tractor since walmart everstart's only last 3 yrs. A bit pricey (double the price of everstart) but hopefully that means double the life. Fit was good in his craftsman T2000 ride on. Needed 230CCa, this battery puts out 320CCA. Fully charged on arrival with free overnight shipping!
